Kerite Engineering Catalog

The document discusses sequence impedances for three-phase power systems. It provides tables of positive, negative, and zero sequence impedance values for different conductor sizes and voltages. The positive and negative sequence impedances of a transformer are identical, while the zero sequence impedance depends on the path available for zero sequence current flow and the transformer's internal balancing. The tables list impedance values in ohms/kilofoot for various conductor gauges and voltages in a triangular configuration.

Sequence Impedance

Three phase non-symmetrical faults involve positive, negative and zero sequence impedances. The positive and negative
sequence impedances of a transformer are identical, while the zero sequence impedance is dependent upon the path available
for the flow of zero sequence current and the balancing ampere turns available within the transformer. The following table can
be used for obtaining such impedance values for three phase copper conductors in a triangular configuration (in ohms/kilofoot).
