1 JAMIE- close up. The close up shot of the characters feet
2 JAMIE- extreme close up (walks down the road) the extreme close up of the characters feet will create suspense and tension as the audience wont know who they are watching walking. 3 JAMIE- mid shot (carrying a gun) the mid shot of the gun will be the first impression that the audience will receive from the character featured. The use of a gun may create the impression that the character is evil and may therefore be the villain. 4 JAMIE- mid shot (he shoots): portrays him to be a troublemaker and a potential villain. 5 ROBBIE- long shot (walking down the road) shows that the character may be troublesome as you can see his costume and facial expressions 6 ROBBIE- extreme long shot (walking through beggars) shows the audience the location in which the soap will be filmed in. 7 ROBBIE- mid shot (buys drugs from BEN)- represents young people negatively and portrays young people to be weak and vulnerable to the pressures of life. 8 BEN- mid shot (sells drugs to ROBBIE and continues to walk)- this represents young people to be reckless and uncontrollable. 9 AMANDA- long shot (arrests BEN and pushes him to the side) this shows her lack of professionalism and this could connote that some of the characters personalities within the soap may be corrupt. 10 DAVE- long shot (walks up to AMANDA): this shot will portray this characters emotions towards AMANDA this can foreshadow future events in particular as the trailer progresses. 11 DAVE- close up (kisses AMANDA)- this shows the relationship between two of the characters featured which may foreshadow future events in the soap to come. 13 DAVE carries flowers- close up. This shows what he is buying and the importance of it as he has only just met his girlfriend and now he is buying flowers for someone else. 14 SOPHIE meets DAVE-mid shot showing the appreciation on her face, obvious he is playing both of them and she has feelings for him. 15 SOPHIE takes flowers- close up showing that the flowers are meant for her. Confusing the audience as they finally realise he has both a wife and a girlfriend. Negative representation 16 SOPHIE walks to house- long shot showing her neighbourhood and house, conventional setting for soaps 17 SOPHIE suffering from morning sickness- long shot showing how young she is and the setting which is domestic setting that is usually seen in many soaps 18 SOPHIE goes to sleep- close up showing her facial expression, clearly shows what she is doing which might not have been so obvious if we would have used a wider shot 19 SOPHIE sleeping- point of view: allows the audience to see exactly what the character can see 20 TILLY sleeping- point of view: allows the audience to see exactly what the character can see 21 TILLY wakes up- close up continuity, smoothly continues the same shot of a different person into a new day 22 TILLY goes downstairs- mid shot shows house setting and lifestyle 23 TILLYS parents arguing- long shot Shows them arguing in front of BILLY, they do not have respect for each other or worry about their child seeing them arguing 24 TILLYS DAD hitting MUM- long shot shows him hitting the mum in front of BILLY, shows how small BILLY is and how he shouldnt be dealing with this type of stuff at this age
