Power Rankings Week 7
10(0): Daddys Team (0-7) Points: 604 Breakdown: 16-47
Sunday night, 7:30, 99.5 + Frank Gore and Phil Dawson vs. 82.5 + Demaryius Thomas. With a 16.5 point lead plus two players this one is done, Daddy is getting his first win! Yes!! Finally, in your face Brandon youre going to lose and Daddy is going to wi.wait, NO! NO stop it! Demaryius quit that! 8:44 pm a text comes through And its over, it was still a 5.5 point game at this point, and then by 9:28 it was over, Demaryius Daddy Thomas had put the game out of reach and the team with the worst luck in the league (Yeah I said it Brandon) continued to show why they have the worst luck. Sporting a total of 808 points against this year, there are only 3 teams in the league with more points for than that, every week someone goes off against this team and it is just stupid. But here is the good news, this time next year, youll be looking down at a team that is rocking out with a 5-2 record or something because Daddy, youre probably going to snag the #1 pick for next season.well depending on how this weeks matchup goes. I just want a win, I dont care who its against, I dont care what it takes. #JustWinBaby #AlDavisQuote #DontBeThe2008Lions #PredictingAnotherWinForDad #PredictOneUntilYouGetOne #Denabye #GeneFranklin #ItHangsToTheGround #Hashtag 9(0): Never Say Die (0-7) Points: 650 Breakdown: 18-45 This has to be a humbling experience for you, ended last season winning 6 of your last 7 games and the championship (in your first season!), and then this happens. This team has managed to get screwed many different ways this year, whether its losing by a point, or trading away players that immediately freak out after leaving their teamyou name it, its happened. But just as mentioned in Daddys report, there is a silver lining, one of you guys will get the #1 choice and the other will get the #2 choice, which is pretty proven to make sure your team will be good the next season. All I can really say is do your best to spoil some peoples playoff hopes or if you happen to play Jake while he still has a 0 in the loss column, try and end a perfect season. One way or another though after this week someone will be 0-8 and someone else will be 1-7, in just a few days we will find out who the lucky winner will be! 8(-1): The Sanchize (3-4) Points: 657 Breakdown: 21-42 Here is what really sucks, this team is 3-4 which is good enough to be tied for the last spot in the AFC, but unfortunately that is not good enough for the NFC. In fact that means that you are 2 games out of the last spot in the NFC, sad, but thats the truth. With Rivers at the helm and a few other good players that have been added to the lineup you would expect this team to really get going, but that was actually like the exact opposite of how this past week went. The Sanchize looked like they had Mark Sanchez leading the team because they didnt even reach 70 points this week, which is very sad. 7(+1): Graham Crackers (3-4) Points: 657 Breakdown: 23-40 Now we are moving in the right direction, Shane Vereen came to play this past week, granted it was receiving and not rushing but who cares. Still sitting tied for the final playoff spot in the AFC this team only has 1 goal, win...well and they want everyone (JGB in particular) to lose that is in their division. Its going to be tough to get the win this week as Jimmy Graham may/may not be used effectively this week and they are up against a team on a 7 game undefeated streak. But hey, everyone has to lose sometime, maybe this team will shock the world this week! I hope they do, and then theyre that much closer to making something happen in the playoff picture.
6(-1): Saved By LeBell (4-3) Points: 690 Breakdown: 27-36 Trades! Trades Galore! This team is really trying to reach the all coveted trade record for our league, which ironically was set by this particular owner (10). Sitting at 9 trades, he only needs a few more to reach that goal that seemed to be almost unattainable. After a deal that sent Rivers packing and another that brought in a new QB this team is definitely ready to make a push, the only issue is they have to score points to win. Last week they had a good shot at it, and came up gut wrenchingly close to ending the streak. Unfortunately they couldnt channel their inner Brock Lesnar and beat the streak (Lesnar over Undertaker, Wrestlemania 30). And not only did they get the uneasy task of trying to take down the current regular season champ, to reward them for their mishap, they get the #2A and #2B teams in the next 2 weeks.. Its a gauntlet and unfortunately everyone has to run it at some point. 5(+1): Jordy Green Bryant (3-4) Points: 778 Breakdown: 40-23 Finally! The losing streak is over, and it ends at 4 games, this team is now looking to stop another streak, the First Rounders are riding a 6 game winning streak so win #4 may be hard to come by this week. But hey if we already knew the outcome then why would we play? The JGB are getting AJ Green back this week and for the first time since week 5 they will have their 3 top dogs all in the lineup at the same time. Jordy, Dez and AJ are all monsters who could easily take over a game (yes we use first names with each other), but the addition of Tom Brady, who seemed to snatch his talents back from the Monstars via a talent filled football (Space Jam reference) seems to really be the X-Factor in this one. If this team can just separate themselves to secure a playoff spot then I would be willing to put my stamp of approval that theyll make some noise if they stay healthy. 4(-1): Bushy Man-things (4-3) Points: 803.5 Breakdown: 39-24 It is hard to be on a losing streak, especially when youve been at the top of the power rankings several times. This is normally where I would make a oh how the mighty have fallen type of joke, but the thing is, this team is still sitting at #1 in their division and unless there is a collapse of epic proportions (or Peyton Manning gets injured) then I see this team finishing out the season at a top 3 team on their side and making the playoffs. The only reason this team has lost the past two weeks is because they have played the top scorers of the week, otherwise they may be looking at 5-2 or even 6-1. There is nothing to worry about with this team, theyll be fine. 2(+2): The First Rounders (6-1) Points: 825.5 Breakdown: 41-22 After failing to score 90 in 2 of their first 3 games this team has gone on a tear and is averaging 129.5 points over the past 4 games, they look to keep that streak going as they are finally coming into a week with the entire Fab 5 available. They are looking to continue their 6 game winning streak as they come up against #5 ranked JGB, who is getting AJ Green back from an injury. I think as long as this team doesnt just shit themselves then they should be able to make the playoffs and have a real shot at being in the mix for the 1 st round bye, depending on how the rest of the division shakes out. Just a few more weeks until its back to the divisional rounds and then well see what happens. 2(-1): Sanky Pank (5-2) Points: 918 Breakdown: 51-12 First off, congratulations on making the playoffs! Secondly I know what youre thinking, how did I go from being #1 in the Power Rankings last week, to scoring a league high last week and dropping in the rankings? What had happened is your points and breakdown are already #1, but your record is not, so you cant improve on anything except your record. But the only way to improve that is for me or Jake to lose. But unfortunately for you Ay-Ay Ron and The First Rounders both jumped several spots in points and the breakdown which closed the gap, or in 1 teams case, vaulted them over you. This team is slightly depressing for me, this is the best team in the league but theyre sitting at 3 rd place in their own division. Its sad when 3 rd place of one division could be in line for a bye if they were in the other division, but sometimes thats just how it goes. One way or another, this team will be making noise in the playoffs, and might be coming hope with some hardware. 1(+1): Ay-Ay Ron (7-0) Points: 809.5 Breakdown: 41-22 Undefeated, completely going off the beaten path and just paving their own way, this team is doing some unprecedented things. Part of me says you better lose one in the regular season or else you may take a loss in the playoffs when it really counts. The good news with this team is that within the past few weeks they have managed to move higher up in the breakdown which means that compared to everyone else theyre still improving. This team has all the makings of a champion and they also have some luck on their side, this week they squeaked by when there were multiple opportunities for them to get their first loss, but it would appear that fate just didnt want them to lose yet. When they will, I dont know, but what I do know is if they want the bye then they better win out because two teams are nipping at their heels.
