This document provides information on UZIN PE 360 NEW, a ready-to-use, fast-drying dispersion primer for pre-treating absorbent mineral substrates before applying cement or calcium sulfate based leveling compounds. It penetrates well into substrates and forms a film, protecting moisture-sensitive surfaces from water in leveling compounds. The new formula makes it especially fast drying. It is suitable for use on cement screeds, calcium sulfate screeds, cement/plaster leveling compounds, concrete, and more. The primer dries within 30-60 minutes and has a high yield. It prepares absorbent surfaces for leveling compounds and flooring installation.

Dispersion primer for absorbent substrates, screeds and concrete floors
UZIN PE 360 NEW
Applications: Ready-to-use, fast-drying dispersion primer for pre-treatment of absorbent mineral substrates, before the application of cement- or calcium sulphate-based levelling compounds. For use on floors and walls, preferably prior to levelling work underneath floor coverings or wooden floors. For interior and exterior applications. Suitable for use on: 3 Absorbent substrates such as cement screeds, cement / plaster-based levelling compounds or concrete 3 Calcium sulphate screeds / fibre-reinforced gypsum panels 3 Cement plasters, calcium/cement plasters, plasterboard panels Suitable for: 3 Application under low-slump and self-levelling levelling compounds 3 Areas of high traffic in residential, commercial and industrial areas 3 Hot water underfloor heating 3 Traffic from chair castors (DIN EN 12 529) 3 Not suitable for use as a primer under dispersion-based wood floor adhesives 3 Use as a rapid construction system component Product benefits / features: As before, UZIN PE 360 NEW penetrates well into the sub- strate, but also has film-forming properties, on account of the innovative binder system used. As a result, UZIN PE 360 NEW not only offers subsequent levelling compounds with a superb bonding primer, but is simultaneously strongly reductive of the absorbency of the substrate. Substrates sensitive to moisture are protected from the water from levelling compounds and adhesives, while, for extremely absorbent substrates, mixing water is drawn out of the freshly applied levelling compound to a much lower degree. The new formula for UZIN PE 360 NEW makes it especially fast-drying, thus avoiding long setting times. Ingredients: Modified styrene acrylic copolymer, wetting, anti-foaming agent and preservative, water. 3 Ready for use 3 Very fast-drying 3 Excellent penetration, film forms immediately 3 High-yield 3 Spray application ready 3 GISCODE D 1/solvent-free Technical data: Packaging: Plastic canister Pack sizes: 10 kg, 5 kg Shelf life: min. 12 months Colour liquid /dry: milk-blue / transparent Consumption/coverage: 80 150 g/m 2 Minimum working temperatures: 10C at ground level Ideal working temperature: 15 25 C at ground level Drying time, can be covered after: 30 60 minutes* *At 20C and 65% relative humidity. Cement and calcium sulphate screeds must be abraded and vacuumed off. Test the substrate in accordance with applicable standards and bulletins and report any deficiencies. Any adhesion-reducing or unstable layers, e.g. release agents, loose adhesives, compounds, covering or paint residues etc. must be removed, e.g. by brushing, abrading, grinding or shot-blasting. Thoroughly vacuum off loose material and dust. Allow any primers that are applied to dry completely. Refer to the product data sheets for other products used. Application: 1. Allow the container to reach room temperature before use and shake well, then decant the contents into a clean, oval bucket. 2. Apply primer coat using a UZIN Nylon Fibre Roller, 25 cm/ 14 mm (art. no.: 9394) or lambswool roller generously and over the whole of the substrate surface. At edges or walls, the primer coat can also be applied with a standard paintbrush or other type of brush. Where substrates are strongly absorbent, do not pour onto the substrate to avoid excessive local saturation; in some cases, a second coat may be required. 3. Clean tools with water immediately after use. Application table: Cement levelling compound on Coverage Drying time cement screeds, cement levelling compounds or concrete 80 150 g /m 2 Approx. 30 min.* Calcium sulphate screeds, plaster-based precast concrete, 80 120 g /m 2 Approx. 60 min.* plaster substrates, render Weakly absorbent, less porous substrates 80 100 g /m 2 Approx. 60 min.* Plaster levelling compound on Coverage Drying time calcium sulphate screeds, plaster-based precast concrete 80 120 g /m 2 Approx. 30 min.* *At 20C and 65% relative humidity. Important notes: 3 Shelf life min. 12 months in original packaging when stored in moderately cool conditions. Frost-resistant to 4C. Re-seal opened containers tightly and use contents as quickly as possible. Allow primer to reach room temperature before processing. 3 Optimum working at 15 25C, floor temperature over 15C and rel. humidity below 65 %. Low temperatures and high humidity will delay whilst high temperatures and low humidity will accelerate the drying time. 3 A second coat is recommended on strongly absorbent sub- strates. 3 Allow levelling compound to dry completely, apply UZIN PE 360 universal primer as an intermediate primer and apply subsequent levelling compound after drying. The second application must not exceed the thickness of the first one. 3 Where levelling produces layers exceeding 10 mm, an epoxy resin primer such as UZIN PE 460 (sanded) is required. 3 Not suitable for use on water-soluble adhesive remnants (e.g. spent sulphite lye adhesives) or tackifiers, or old bitumen adhesive remnants. In such cases, use a suitable primer from the current UZIN product range. 3 Not suitable for use as a moisture barrier. 3 Not suitable for use as a primer directly under wood floor adhesives. 3 Do not use on chipboard panels, OSB panels or other wood- based substrates. 3 Do not use on non-mineral substrates or on magnesium- and xylolite-based screeds. 3 Observe generally acknowledged industry and technology best practice when laying floor coverings, plus the respective applicable national standards. (e.g. EN, DIN, VOB, OE, SIA, etc.) The following standards and bulletins offer supporting information and /or are recommended reading: DIN 18 365 "Working with floor coverings" TKB publication "Assessment and preparation of substrates for floor covering and wood flooring installation" BEB publication "Assessment and preparation of substrates" Protection of the workplace and the environment: GISCODE D1 solvent-free (TRGS 610). The use of skin protection lotion is recom- mended as a rule. Store out of the reach of children. Ensure thorough ventilation during and after working /drying! Do not eat, drink or smoke while working with the product. In the event of contact with the eyes or skin, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Do not dispose of into the sewer system, open water or the soil. Clean tools with water and soap immediately after use. To the best of current knowledge, does not emit any relevant emissions of formalde- hyde, harmful substances or other volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Odourless as well as ecologically and physiologically harmless when fully dried. Basic prerequisites for optimal interior air quality after floor covering work depend on installation conditions conforming to standards, plus thoroughly-dried substrates, primers and levelling compounds. Disposal: Collect and reuse product residues wherever possible. Do not dispose of into the sewer system, open water or the soil. Empty, plastic containers (scraped clean and drip-free) can be recycled [Interseroh]. Containers with liquid residues are classified as special waste, as are collected liquid product residues. Containers with residues that have dried solid are classified as construction/ household waste. UZIN PE 360 NEW The above information is based on our experience and careful investigations.
