This document outlines a 60-minute lesson plan about choosing an animal as a pet. The lesson involves students naming animals that can be pets, discussing domesticated vs. wild animals, and choosing in groups which animal they would want as a pet and giving 3-5 reasons for their choice. Students are then given a tasksheet to read about rabbits and dogs, fill in a table, and write which animal they would choose for their birthday and reasons why. domesticated and wild animals.

While writing

3. Pupils then get into groups of 4. Each group chooses an

b. Your birthday is just around the corner. Your father
brought you to a pet shop. Based on the information
given, which animal would you choose as a pet? Give
reasons for your choice.
I would choose the dog as my pet because it is a loyal
animal. It lives in a kennel. I already have one in my
house so I can use it to keep my pet dog. This pet
feeds on dog food and bones. It would not be a
problem as a pet shop is just near my house. The
price is only RM 13.00. My father has enough money
to buy this pet as my birthday gift.
Feedback
1. The groups take turn to present their ideas to the
class.
2. After presenting, teacher gives them feedback.
