Chapter 3: Every action left an imprint on my heart.
You have no idea, no idea about every actions that you had carved into my heart.
You have no clue, no clue that you're scaring me when you're so near.
You are oblivious, so oblivious of the fear you've implanted in me.
And I wonder, am I able to leave with a perfect heart?
Without your presence at all...
A shift on her left, a soft kick on her waist and a weight pressed on her body. She threw
a hand on top of her eyes and opened her dried mouth, licking her lips once before
opening her eyes. A blurry image surfaced in front of her and she squint her eyes to clear
the grogginess away from her eyes. She watched the image turned clearer, the pair of
dark brown pupils staring at her, dark brown hair that curls so naturally and gently
above her shoulders with a few strands defying gravity Kaylie.
Hurried footsteps could be heard getting nearer and nearer to the bed and Tiany turned
just in time to catch Jessica in a smart casual outt, a red checkered shirt with a pair of
skinny jeans.
Hey, youre up.
She greeted with a smile and bend down to kiss the small gure on top of her, her light
perfume smell lingering above Tianys nose.
Breakfasts ready, Ive placed it on the dining table. Sunny will be coming over soon.
Jessica said as she leaned her body over to pick up the document le on the bed while
Tiany sat up slowly with Kaylie in her arms.
Youre going back to oce?
Yes, I have to clear some stus for the upcoming case.
Jessica replied as she straightened her body and gave a smile to Tiany.
Im sorry I fell asleep at here yesterday night.
Its alright, not the rst time anyway.
Tiany gave a teasing grin and Jessica could only laugh it o.
Im sorry.
Its not your fault. Kaylies used to you putting her to bed anyway.
Jessica nodded her head as she took a glance at her wristwatch before stepping
backwards.
Running late, Ill be back soon. Call me if anything happens okay?
Tiany watched as Jessicas back view disappeared behind the room door, her words
oating in her mind, her light refreshing perfume lingers in the air and when she heard
the front door closes, she felt its too quiet all of a sudden. She felt empty for no reason
and a heavy feeling on her heart, suocating her morning.
It felt like she was back to one year ago, where it was nothing, but emptiness in her
heart.
Despite knowing that the emptiness feeling wont be with her for too long since Sunny is
coming soon, but she would not deny that there will still be this small bubble of it in her
heart and it will only clear away when Jessicas with her.
And Tiany hated this fact.
Wheres da da?
Kaylie asked softly which caused Tiany to look down and planted a kiss on her head
before replying her with a soft yet assuring tone.
Da das going to work now.
Work?
Yes, so that da da will have money to buy your milk.
Tiany replied as she got o the bed with Kaylie in the arms and headed to the
bathroom to freshen themselves up.
Milk? Milk for Kaylie?
Tiany chuckled loudly and nodded her head, giving Kaylie an Eskimo kiss as she placed
her to stand on the counter. It wasnt really true that Jessica is earning Kaylies milk
money, though for the past half year before Tiany gotten a job, Jessica was indeed the
one who feeds them. Buying Kaylies clothes, toys, milk, diaper and all necessities that a
baby needed and needless to say, she also took care of Tiany very well.
Want da da play.
The little girl spoke as Tiany squeezed grape avor toothpaste on the small pink
toothbrush before wetting it and passed it to Kaylie.
Da da will come back home and play with you.
Tiany picked up her toothbrush and started brushing her teeth as Kaylie mirrored her
actions. She pushed her toothbrush to the side of her mouth as she helped Kaylie to spit
the foam out and washed her mouth with a cup of water.
Da da plays with mummy?
Tiany frowned at that sentence as she continues her administration on her teeth while
Kaylie remains standing on the counter.
Mummy is too old to play with da da.
Kaylie stared at Tiany quietly while her face was being wiped by a wet towel and was
lifted down from the counter. She trailed behind Tiany and ran towards to get her duck
plushie that was ignored on the oor.
Da da?
Kaylie mumbled as she looked at Tiany who was making the bed. Tiany was puzzled
at Kaylies insistence for Jessica. Although Kaylie would ask for Jessica everytime she
goes to work on a Saturday, Kaylie had never been this insistence before.
Da das working, Kaylie.
Letting out a sigh, Tiany bends down and gave her a breathtaking smile.
Milk?
A wide grin was let out on Kaylies face as she nodded her head and wrapped her ngers
around Tianys nger as they walked out of the bedroom, swinging their arms lightly
that got Kaylies smiling while her other arm hugged her duck plushie tightly.
Taking care of a baby was never easy, at least, not to a 24 years old young lady.
Especially not when you have no idea on how to take care of a baby at all, no one to
help you out and no one to guide you what to do, it was hell, it was a struggle but then
again, it seems to pay o when the little one smiles and chuckles at you. It threw away
all your frustrations and tiredness and you cherish the moment when she smiles at you,
cries for you and settle down in your arms as soon as you carry her and she recognize
you.
When the rapport and relationship you have with the baby was there, everything paid
o. Every single sweat and tears paid o.
Even when the child is not yours.

This is my dog. I want to name it Teddy, because its uy and big.
The door bell rang twice and Tiany looked up from the book that she was reading to
Kaylie. She closed the book and lifted Kaylie o her lap before placing her down on the
couch that they were sitting on.
Da da!
Kaylie whispered out softly as she looked at the door and Tiany rued her hair
aectionately.
Stay here while mummy go and take a look.
It couldnt be Jessica for she has her own set of keys unless she forgets to bring it out
with her, but judging the time right now, it is a higher possibility that its Sunny.
Sunny and Taeyeon, the other duo that Tiany will always be thankful for since they
helped her a lot during her stay here. It was pretty uncomfortable knowing them at rst
since she doesnt even know Jessica when she moved in together all of a sudden. Tiany
insisted that shell be staying at a motel or a rented apartment with Kaylie, but Jessica
was persistent for them to stay with her.

I almost knocked you down, I found you and youre hurt. Youve no one but me. I have the
responsibility to take care of you and Kaylie.
But we dont even know each other. Im thankful for your help but Ive troubled you enough.
Well, yeah but looking at the situation right now, I am the last person that is in contact with
you. If anything happens to you, Ill still be the one contacted regardless you know me or not.
Furthermore, I dont wish anything happen especially her. You can ignore about yourself, but
not her, shes just a toddler. Shes only 10 months old.
Stephanie bit on her lower lips. This blonde right in front of her, Ms Jung, was right. Kaylies
still young and vulnerable. Even if she doesnt care about herself, she needs to care about
Kaylie. But then again, she knows nothing about this lady in front of her and also, the shorter
brunette with a baby face that was beside her.
Yeah, Stephanie right? Listen to Jessica.
Ah, so she nally spoke up. Stephanie looked at her with a slight worry present in her eyes.
Her voice is lower and thicker than Ms Jung, and its much more warm and soothing.
Ms Jungs voice is too cold and ruthless.
Heard from Jessica youre from Korea? Im Kim Taeyeon. I grew up in Korea too but I moved
here when Im 16.
Taeyeon stretched her hand out as she introduced herself in Korean. Oddly enough, it brought
a sense of homely feeling to Stephanie. She felt safe yet homesick at that same time. Stephanie
inwardly mocked at how time changes a person. When she moved to Korea, listening and
speaking in English makes her feels at home, but right now, listening and speaking in Korean
makes her feel at home.
Hi, Im Stephanie, but please, call me Tiany will do.
Tiany.
Taeyeon repeated as she shook their hands rmly and gave her a smile that shows o her
dimples at the corner of her chin.
I guess Jessica has yet to tell you, were both lawyers. So if youre wondering whether well
bring you harm or not, I could assure you that were not. Were good people, people that bring
justice out. So please, do follow Jessica back and let us help you out.
At this point of time, Stephanie wonders, are all lawyers so smooth in talking?
Oh, if you think thats not good enough, I could tell you more. Shes Jessica Jung, American
and had lived here for about 2 decades except for those ve years shes in Korea. She
understands Korean and is able to speak, but her tongue usually doesnt co operate with her
when she does, so do pardon her that.
Shut up Taeyeon.
Jessica, who was looking at Taeyeon with half lidded eyes throughout warned behind gritted
teeth.
She needs to know more about us before moving in with you.
She doesnt need to know about our background history.

Stephanie sucked her lips in and pressed it together, forcing herself not to laugh at them. It
would seem rude at that time.
A loud sigh was emitted and Stephanie felt the side of her bed sank down as a weight was
placed on it.
Tiany? Im not forcing you to move in. I just
Jessica spoke as she stared at the baby girl in Stephanies arms. It reminded her too much of
her past and her poor mother. She doesnt want a baby girl to go through such ordeals at a
young age, even if she doesnt remember.
Its the best for her. A place ready for her to settle down quickly, babies are sensitive,
especially new environment. You, in this state, are not going to help. Unless, you have someone
I could contact and help you out.
Jessica continued as she stared at Kaylie and slowly trailed her gaze up to Stephanie. There is
someone that could help her, but she refused to look for this particular gure. Its useless,
Stephanie gures out. That gures presence wouldnt do any help anyway; instead it might
make things worse.
I dont.
It seems to come out clear and strong. Stephanie knows that theres a price to pay soon.
Well, since you have no one
Ill take up your oer. This is the only best option for Kaylie right?
Stephanie interrupted Taeyeon softly, which cause a smile to spread on Taeyeons face.

Hey!
Sunny greeted her once she opened the door. Tiany grinned at the older girl before
opening the door wider for her to come in.
Kaylies going to be disappointed.
Tiany stated as she closed the door. Sunny placed her sneakers neatly at the side of the
threshold and straightened her body.
Why?
She thought it is Jessica.
Sunny laughed, as she entered the room and went to the living room. The whole
apartment was neat and tidy, just like always. A year ago, it was only black and white.
Sophisticated and chic was the aura that Jessicas apartment brings out. The glass
window that allows sunlight to beams in, lightening the whole apartment in a cheerful
and warm way. Sunny had always like Jessicas apartment, because it was almost the
same as Taeyeon. The only dierence is, Taeyeon prefers wood and teak, which gives o
a much welcoming feeling than Jessicas, which are mostly metal and steel.
It is cold, like Jessicas personality, yet when you lingers long enough like how you
know Jessica well enough, its comfortable, quiet, calm and peaceful.
However, right now, it gives o another feeling. Toys could be seen on the oor, on the
play mat. Soft toys are on the couch, storybooks are on the coee table. A baby stroller
was folded and stood near the door and of course, a small presence that waddles around
like a penguin around the apartment.
Hello sweetie!
Sunny greeted in Korean as she crouched down in front of Kaylie who was sitting still on
the couch. Kaylie blinked once, and then twice.
Whats wrong?
Sunny cooed as she watch the small lips frowned, the corners tugging down and Kaylies
face slowly scrunched up. Tears welled up in her eyes and soon after, she burst out
crying.
Sunny was baed at the sudden outburst as she hurriedly carried her up and dandled
her skillfully. Tiany could only chuckle at the sight. Taking a look at the clock which
has it hands pointing to quarter to twelve, Tiany let out a sigh and went over to Sunny
to carry Kaylie into her arms.
Alright, well try to call da da now.
Tiany assured the little girl as she picked up the phone and settled on the couch, with
Kaylies standing on her lap, lying on her embrace. The crying stopped as she watched
Tiany punching the numbers intently.
Sunny settled down beside them, smoothing Kaylies hair while asking Tiany softly.
Wont we interrupt them?
Tiany shrugged as she held the phone next to her ear and answered Sunny.
Just try our luck, Jessica will return the call if she cant answer it.
Does this happened everytime?
Only when shes cranky.
Tiany smiled while replying as the dial tone keeps ringing.
I guess she doesnt sleep well yesterday, or maybe she didnt wake up to Jessicas face.
Jessica left early?
No, but she was already awake before she did.
Aww, thats so sweet.
Sunny cooed as she kissed Kaylies back of head and looked at Tiany when the latter
spoke up all of a sudden.
Am I disturbing?
Are you sure? You can call back later.
Tiany stared at coee table as Jessica answered something Sunny could not hear.
Kaylies crying for you.
A moment of silence, and Tiany burst out with laughter. She nodded her head and
passed the phone to Kaylie.
Its da da.
Tiany pressed the phone on Kaylies ear and watched as Kaylie called out to Jessica
softly.
Da da!
Yes darling?
Da da!
Mummy said youre crying, whats wrong?
Da da, come home?
Im coming back soon.
Coming back?
Yes, so please be good and no more crying. Take your lunch and have your nap. Da
da will come home soon okay?
Okay.
Give me a kiss.
Kaylie pushed her head away and kissed the phone, which caused Tiany and Sunny to
smile happily at that cute sight.
That was fast.
Tiany said as she took the phone back and Jessica hummed back in response.
I told her Im coming back soon.

No problem, Im almost done with my work anyway. By the way, is Sunny over there?
Tiany took a look at Sunny who was already carrying Kaylie and placing her on the
play mat.
Yes, shes here. Why?
Uh, its just Taeyeon. Shell be coming over to fetch Sunny. I guess well be having
dinner together.
It shouldnt be a problem right?
Tiany listened to the rustle over the other end and knew Jessica was reading and
talking to her at the same time. Typical of Jessica, she always never fails to put Kaylie
rst.
Yup.
Jessica?
Tiany called out in a softer voice as she stared at Kaylie who was playing with Sunny
with a smile on her face. A timid and shy smile, which resembles her and Jessicas at the
same time.
Yes? Is hold on.
Tiany heard a soft bang from the other side, followed by whispering and a moment of
silence.
Yes, Ill be going to look at the evidence on Monday. Oh, I need you to photocopy a set
of case S1022 for me by today and Ill need you to get ready case le D458 and place it
on my table.
Tiany always wondered how Jessica looks like when shes working. From the way she
commends, Tiany was often awed by how calm, steady and rm she is. It seems like
she knows what shes doing, what steps she is taking and where is she heading to.
Tiany was sure Jessica is a great lawyer and of course, mesmerized a lot of people with
her charm.
Tiany? Im sorry, what did you want to tell me?
Tiany let out a soft warming smile, identical to the one Kaylie is giving to Sunny right
now, as if Jessica was able to see it.
Nothing, I just want to tell you its alright not to pick up the phone when youre busy.
Kaylie will be pacied when she knows I called you but youre busy to pick up the
phone.
Jessica let out a hued from the other side, but Tiany had known her quite some time
and it was long enough to know that Jessica was actually smiling and mocking her in a
friendly way.
I miss her voice, is that reason good enough for you?
Tiany laughed at Jessicas odd sense of humor, but was glad Jessica never once did
mind about all these interrupting calls when shes working on a Saturday.
Yeah, its good, thanks.
Jessica let out a soft chuckle and repeated once again.
I missed her voice, Ive told you.
Truth to be told, the rst time she said that, it was true.
The second time however, was meant for the lady that was on the phone right now.
Because Tiany would never know how her heart would skipped a beat whenever
Tianys name appeared on her phone screen. Imagination would run wild and she
always feared for the worst, be it concerning Tiany or Kaylie, thats why she will
always picked up the phone no matter how busy she was, unless she was in court.

A black BMW series 5 drove down a slope to the basement car park followed by a silver
A6 Audi car. It wasnt too long before these two luxury car was parked side by side.
Jessica stepped out of the car with Taeyeon following soon after.
Shawn said youre going to appear on court on the following Tuesday?
Jessica spun the house keys around her ngers as she pushed open the glass door with
another hand, nodding her head to Taeyeons question before pressing the lift.
What time?
They have scheduled it at 2pm. Why?
Taeyeon nodded at that answer as she stued her hands in her blazer coat. Her hair was
tight up in a bun, showing o her features clearly that practically shone under the
spotlight.
"Any chance of winning the case?"
They entered the lift with the 20

oor button rimmed lit up in blue.
"No comments. I'll just have to strive my best to prove my client's innocence."
Taeyeon smiled before tilting her head to a side as she looked at Jessica who was staring
at the changing numbers.
"But your client is innocence, and that means you'll win."
Jessica shrugged at Taeyeon's statement before stepping out of the lift with the latter
following closely behind.
The door opened after a click and Taeyeon announced her presence loudly.
Im home!
It was a bright smile that revealed her dimples again and loud footsteps could be heard
ying towards them.
Kaylie, give me a hug!
Taeyeon bent her body down with her arms wide opened when Kaylie stood in front of
her with pacier in her mouth and a head of messy hair. Kaylie stared at Taeyeon, who
clapped her hands twice to encourage her to come into her embrace.
Jessica, on the other hand, took o her sneakers and placed it back in the shoe closet
before bending down with a grin.
Come here, darling.
Kaylie grinned behind her pacier as ran into her embrace and hugged her tightly.
Jessica planted a kiss on Kaylies head and snied her strawberry scented hair twice.
With Kaylie in her arms, she turned around and stuck her tongue out at the
disappointed, hurt and ignored Taeyeon.
Thats not fair.
Taeyeon whined as she followed Jessica in with a pout on her face while Jessica replied
nonchalantly.
Whats not?
She let you carried her when Im the rst one thats ready to hug her.
But Im her da da and shes my darling, its natural for her to come to me.
Youre back!
Sunny greeted once the trio appeared in the living room and Jessica gave a smile to
Tiany who was arranging the sleep mat on the oor.
So youre just going to take your nap huh?
Jessica asked as she bent her body to place Kaylie on the oor but the little girl clung
onto her tightly, like a koala bear. She had her legs and hands wrapped tightly around
Jessicas waist and neck respectively. Kaylie let out a whine when she realized Jessica
was putting her down and whined louder when Jessica tried to persuade her to come
down.
Kaylie, come down.
Tiany intervened when she saw whats happening but Kaylie cried out in return when
she was pried o from Jessicas embrace.
Tiany frowned at the unusual clinginess from Kaylie while Sunny and Taeyeon
exchanged glances with each other. Jessica stepped forward and both of them shared a
worried look before Jessica coaxed Kaylie into her arms again.
Whats wrong darling?
She asked as she dandled the little girl in her embrace and shot Tiany a look towards
her bedroom.
What happened?
Taeyeon asked as she settled down on the couch while Jessica and Tiany went into the
room. Sunny shrugged as she sat beside Taeyeon, who pulled her in for a kiss soon.
Fany said Kaylies been a little moody since morning, looking for Sica once she left.
Baby blue?
Huh?
Taeyeon grinned at Sunnys confused look before speaking again.
Maybe well know when we have a child together, and then Ill probably be able to
explain to you better when our child acted in this way.
Sunny scoed before smiling with her eyes curved up beautifully.
Who says we are going to get married?
Taeyeon give a smug look before whispering in Sunnys ear arrogantly.
Watch me, I will make you mine and well have kids together.

tweak here and there. I really love the plot line of the story.

Kaylie's adorable. At this point, I really can't even imagine Jessica and Tiany and her
parting ways at all because of how attached Kaylie's gotten. That and whether they
realize it or not, it seems like Jessica and Tiany need each other in their lives. Even
Jessica's apartment got a good end of the deal, too, lol.
I also liked the little Sunny and Taeyeon in here.
The idea of them having a family, too is <3

It is one of my favorites already. Kayle is so tender. I can not imagine that child away
from Jessica. Although I worry a little about the behavior of the baby in this chapter. is
as if someone wanted to take Jessica to her.
Anyway, I loved this chapter and also the Sunyeon. XD

OMG my favorite author came back TT.TT You wouldn't know how happy I was when I
saw this topic, I thought I misread the title TT.TT
I already read all of your JeTi cs (of course silent reader, sorry )and love them so
much. I expected so much for this story back then but you said that you dropped it, I
was sad for a long time honestly but... but... now you COME BACK, what a great

Chapter 4: Clinginess.
Admit it.
Sometimes or many times, I shall say.
You wondered how long you could be there for someone else.
And you couldn't help, but wondered as well, who will be there for you always when you
needed it.
The room door closed and Kaylies loud cries were mued. Tiany started to panic as
she went around to Jessicas front and carried Kaylie into her arms which the little girl
complied easily. She started to dandle her and plant kisses on her head, muttering sweet
nothings in her ears. Jessica watched them quietly, feeling her heart constrict at the
sight of them and she remembered how she was used to see her mum doing this to her
younger sister when she was sick.
Is she feeling unwell?
Jessica questioned as she stood by the edge of the bed, hands behind her back while
looking at Tiany with a pair of lost eyes.
Strangely, that pair of lost light brown eyes looked innocent when Tiany met her eyes.
She shook her head with a smile while patting the little body.
I dont think so. Shes probably tired.
So, do we put her to sleep now?
Yeah, she was supposed to sleep but was tossing and playing around on the sleep mat.
When she heard Taeyeons call, she sat up and ran to you.
Oh
Jessica let her word trailed o as she watched Tiany sat on the edge of the bed and
continued patting Kaylie, who was calmed but still sobbing.
Youre feeling tired, arent you? Its past your nap time.
Tiany said softly as she rubbed circles on Kaylies back. She was settled in Tianys
arms, sucking on her pacier and her breathing was slowly even. Jessica took a seat
beside Tiany hesitantly as she watched Kaylies eyes drooping lower while her body
relaxed in Tianys embrace. Jessica reached out a hand and caressed the baby cheek
with the back of her ngers, feeling the smooth milky skin under.
Tiany is still patting Kaylie gently and she slowly stood up from the bed, trying not to
wake Kaylie who has just fallen asleep.
Wherere you going?
Jessica whispered as she saw Tiany standing up. Tiany turned her body towards her
and mouthed silently.
Out.
Its okay; just let her sleep on my bed. Ill keep the sleeping mat.
Jessica drew her legs up on her bed and crawled towards the headboard, pulling the
comforter away and icked her wrist twice, signaling Tiany to come forward. The
room was silent and only Kaylies deep breathing could be heard, Jessica get o the bed
as Tiany went forward and bent her body down to place Kaylie on the bed gently. Just
as Kaylies back touches the bed, she woke up and reaches her hands out towards
Tiany. She started to cry and pushed herself to sit up while trying to stand to reach
Tiany.
Why sweetie? Its okay, mummys here. Ill accompany you to sleep.
Tiany carried Kaylie and placed her on the bed again while Jessica crouched beside the
bed and whispered to her.
Go ahead and sleep on my bed.
I think itll be better if I brought her back to our room. This is your room and it
wouldnt be nice.
Jessica gave a smile as she shook her head.
Im ne with it, go ahead.
With that, Jessica rises and walked out of the room, leaving Tiany and Kaylie alone in
the room.

What happened?
Sunny asked when she saw Jessica closing the room door and walking towards the living
room.
Probably tired, it is way past her nap time.
Has she fallen asleep?
Yeah.
Jessica rolled the sleep mat that was laid on the oor and stood it up, placing it at a
corner of the room.
Taeyeon and Sunny watched her in silence. The trio was quiet for a while, with Jessica
standing still at the corner, her back facing the duo. Sunny nudged Taeyeon at her side,
startling Taeyeon who glanced at her with an eyebrow raised.
Sunny shot a look towards Jessicas back, signaling Taeyeon to break the silence and
stop whatever thoughts that are going through Jessicas mind now.

Do you think that it could be Kaylies sick?
Jessica turned back at the same time with her eyebrow furrowed deeply as she walked
towards them and sat on the couch. Taeyeon and Sunny gaped at the sudden question
before positioning themselves again.
You, youre thinking about that?
Its Jessica turn now to look at them with a questioning look.
Yeah, what else would I think about?
Both faked innocence as they shrugged and smiled warmly at Jessica.
Nothing, were just curious why you are standing there like a status and thought that
youre probably think of Soo Jung.
Taeyeon!
Sunny elbowed Taeyeon straight at the ribs which got the older girl curled up like a ball
on the couch immediately, groaning like theres no tomorrow. Sunny looked up
immediately, fearing that the mentioned name would aect Jessica.
It indeed had as Jessicas face fell and she seemed to be in a daze for a moment.
Sica ah
Jessicas ears perked up at the call and she gave a tight lipped smile.
Its okay. I know you guys are just concern.
Taeyeon uh! Apologize!
Sunny pushed the older girl that was still squirming in pain on the couch, on the
shoulder and Jessica waved her hand in the air.
Its okay.
Of course its okay. Im hurting here right now and Ive to apologize?
Taeyeon managed to mumble through her pain and Jessica let out a laughed. Jessica
went forward and swatted Taeyeons hand that was on the injured ribs.
Is it here?
Jessica asked as she rest her hand on the clothed ribs and Taeyeon nodded pitifully,
pleased that someone was caring for her condition now.
Who asked you to be so dense?
Jessica stated as she pressed hardly on the ribs making Taeyeon yelped in pain. Jessica
stood up, satised as she walked away with Sunny fretting over Taeyeons injuries.
Sica! Youd have killed her!
Then you shouldnt elbow her that hard at rst.
Jessica smiled smugly but it wasnt for long as Kaylies cries echoed from the closed
bedroom after Tiany stepped out.
I think she woke up again."
Tiany sighed and then spoke up with creased eyebrows, looking a little guilty for she
felt that Kaylie and her were actually interrupting their get along session. Tiany was
sure the trio has been playing around like this way before she stayed with them since
this past one year was the same. The way they talked, laughed, played and quarreled, it
had always been the same and it pricked on Tianys conscience when they have to
change just because of Kaylie and her.
Sorry!
Sunny apologized immediately as Taeyeon struggled to get up and mumbled her
apologies as well.
Its okay
Tiany mumbled guiltily and she looked down on the marble oor. She felt sorry when
they apologized for something that was not their fault. Jessica placed a hand on her
shoulder and Tiany looked up slowly.
Hey, it's okay.
Kaylie appeared at the door side, crying with her pacier gone but the duck plushie was
held tightly in her arms.
Mummy
Kaylie called out in between her cries as she walked to Tianys front, her little frame
shaking from the sobs and Tiany bent down to carry her but Jessica beats her to it.
Shes probably not feeling well; maybe we should give her some milk to help her sleep
better.
Jessica went towards the coee table and pulled out a piece of tissue, wiping away
Kaylies tears.
Alright darling, stop crying. Da da will put you to sleep okay? Well sleep together.
Kaylie turned her face away from the cleaning and leaned on Jessicas shoulder while
Sunny stood up and walked towards Jessica.
Do you need me to lay the sleep mat?
Its okay. Ill bring her to my room, theres ice pack in the fridge, get some for Taes
injury.
Jessica answered as she spun around and walked towards her room, with Kaylie lying
quietly in her embrace now, looking around with a pair of sleepy eyes.
She entered the room and drew the curtain closed, making the room darker than it
should be. She could feel cold wind that blew in from outside and saw that the leaves
are turning orange reddish. Its no surprise since it is already autumn season. She felt
Kaylie that was in her arms hugging her tighter and she hurriedly walked away from the
window. Bending down, she placed the little girl on the bed but Kaylie jerked once she
felt that she was being lowered down and started whining.
Okay, okay.
Jessica whispered as she stood up straight and turned around, sitting on the bed before
lying down with Kaylie on top of her. She did it all slowly, fearing that Kaylie would
wake up and cry again but the latter was peacefully sleeping right now.
The room door closed softly and Jessica turned her head towards the door. Tiany was
walking in with a milk bottle that was half lled in her hand.
Is she asleep?
I guess she can take some milk.
Jessica stretched her hand as Tiany climbed up the bed and kneeled her way to Jessica.
She placed the milk bottle in the outstretched hand and sat on the bed with her legs
tucked at the side.
Kaylie, time for milk.
Jessica coaxed softly as she sat up and pivoted her body so that Kaylie could be lower
down to the bed, she did it successfully and Tianys hand ew up to Kaylies head as
she lay on her stomach, caressing the soft dark brown hair lovingly. Jessica tilted the
milk bottle and Kaylie drank it hungrily.
Did you not feed her?
She ate her lunch before shes put for nap.
Ti? I dont think shes feeling well.
Jessica turned and looked at Tiany whos staring at Kaylies worryingly. Tiany leaned
her cheek down on Kaylies forehead to feel the temperature but it was normal.
Theres no fever.
Itll be better if we check up on her. It wont be great if we ended up like the previous
time.
Jessica spoke as Kaylie drank the milk and within minutes, it was empty. She removed
the bottle and place it on her night stand while Tiany started patting Kaylies chest
softly, lulling her to sleep with a steady rhythm. Jessica look on as Tiany put Kaylie to
sleep skillfully, a small smile crept up on her face as she remembered how it used to be a
handful coaxing Kaylie to sleep.

The loud deafening cries were getting on her nerves and she swung her cover to a side, slipping
on her slippers and walked out of her room. The cries get louder as she reached the room that
was beside hers, she knocked on it twice before turning it opened.
Tiany was sitting on her wheel chair, patting the ten month old infant in her embrace
awkwardly. Since she could not move her lower body at all, it is just impossible to dandle the
baby to sleep and it was harder to distract the baby from crying without any movement at all.
Tiany was perplexed; she didnt know what to do at all. It was not the rst night that shes
sleeping with Kaylie but it certainly was the rst time she took care of an infant and it made
her feel helpless and lost.
She wanted to cry, she wanted to leave Kaylie alone at the crib which surprisingly was bought
and assembled the next day she woke up, all by Jung Jessica. She was surprised and was taken
aback that the older girl even apologized for not having another room to make it as an infant
room for Kaylie. And because of all the infant necessities that was already prepared by Jessica
straight after she moved in, she felt more sorry to disturb her with Kaylies cries. Thats the
most she could do right? Giving Jessica a peaceful night and not to trouble her anymore but
apparently, the little baby thinks otherwise.
Is she alright?
Jessica asked and she saw Tiany jumped in shocked. Jessica apologized immediately and
went towards her.
I knocked before I came in. Im sorry. Whats wrong with her?
Im sorry; she must have woken you up. Its just, I dont know. She woke up all of a sudden
crying and theres no way I can stop it.
Jessica looked at the baby that was in Tianys arm, face red from all the crying. She then
looked up and saw Tianys helpless and teary eyes.
Im really sorry.
It came out with a choked sob and Jessica widened her eyes at it. Tackling one crying girl is
bad enough, not two.
Its alright, come on, Ill put her to sleep.

Jessica gave her a small smile and carried the baby from Tianys arm but the position was
awkward. Frankly speaking, she hadnt really carried a baby before. As expected, Kaylie cry
louder once she felt insecure, partly from the missing scent of Tianys and mainly from the
position shes being carried now.
Ms Jung, youve to carry her with your arms under her body, your palm supporting her bum.
Her head had to be lying on your elbow, like this.
Tiany explained and showed Jessica the way to carry Kaylie. Jessica imitated the action and
Kaylies cries went softer. Jessica started patting on the diapered bum and Tiany looked at
Kaylie intensely.
Do you think shes hungry?
Tiany spoke up all of a sudden and Jessica furrowed her eyebrow, thinking hard.
Is there a way to check?
Um, no?
Jessica looked at Tiany helplessly and she changed Kaylies position, lifting her in the air
while sning on her bum.
It doesnt seem like she took a dump.
Tiany nodded her head but still wheeled herself to the baby changing table that was beside
the crib. She opened a drawer and took out a new diaper.
We should just change her and make her milk then put her to sleep again.
Tiany wheeled back and Jessica placed Kaylie back on the bed and took the diaper from
Tiany. She stared at the infant for a while before lifting the legs and pulled the pajamas pants
down. Peeling o the sticker at the side, she stared and bit down on a corner of her lips. She
took away the used diaper and took the new one in her hands.
Ms Jung, youve to lift her leg or it will be unhygienic.
Tiany bent forward and raised Kaylies legs while Jessica mumbled an apology.
Call me Jessica, it feels weird to call me by my family name.
Jessica slid the diaper under and diapered her as fast as possible.
Ill make the milk.
Tiany gave her a smile but Jessica stopped her.
Its dark outside, Ill make it. Youll try to comfort her?
Kaylies crying has stopped after a change of diaper and Tiany smiled thankfully at Jessica
before scooping the baby into her arms again.

Jessica said before she left the room and Tiany stared at the leaving back view. She
swallowed down the lump that was formed in her throat forcefully as she hugged Kaylie
tighter.
Its only you and me now; we have to be grateful to Aunt Jessica eternally okay?
A tear ran down her face as she heard Kaylie hummed in her ears and all of a sudden, she
wished that it was her mum, humming a lullaby to her, lulling her to sleep.
Here, I hope the temperatures right? Sunny said to test it on the back of hand, it feels warm.
Jessica crouched in front of them as Tiany fed Kaylie, who drank the milk hungrily. It was
almost nished, but Kaylie had chosen to turn away from the milk and refused to drink
anymore. Tiany stood her up and burped her before placing her on the bed. Jessica hurriedly
went over and carried Tiany to the bed which startled her again.
Its faster this way, I dont know how you get down by the way and its dangerous since the
doctor says you shouldnt move at all.
But Kaylies crying in the crib.
You shouldve called me.
I dont want to trouble you.
Tiany mumbled softly but Jessica placed a hand on her head and Tiany choked at the
intimacy.
Its alright. I brought you home and so I have the responsibility to take care of both of you.
But still
If I found out that you get down on your own again, Im going to have you pack your
belongings and move into my room.
It came out cold and harsh, but concern was greatly present behind the words. Tiany nodded
softly and slid down under the cover, turning to face Kaylie whos looking around sleepily. She
started patting on her chest and Jessica looked on as the baby girl eyes drooped lower and
closes eventually. She watches as the baby breath slow and evenly while Tianys hands
slowed down at the pats. She let out a big sigh and stood up, ready to leave the room.
Just as she was about to close the door, a soft question sounded the room.
Why did you bring us back home?
Jessica stood there for a moment before replying quietly.
Because I couldnt go against my conscience
You did nothing wrong, I fainted in front of your car.
I know.
So why?
I really have no idea, maybe its just fate. Go to sleep.
Jessica never once turned to face Tiany. She closed the door as a tear rolled down Tianys
face and she leaned against the door, looking up at the ceiling tiredly.
Maybe, its because you reminds me of my family. Maybe it's because I wondered if my mum
did the same thing to me before."
Jessica whispered softly to the air and walked towards her bedroom.

Jessica snapped out from her thoughts and she found that both Tiany and Kaylie were
sleeping soundly on her bed. She smiled as she thought that it looks exactly like how it
was a year ago. But of course, a lot have changed. Tiany and Jessica were two novices
back then, but now, they were experts in taking care of Kaylie, like she was their child.
Speaking of which, they do seem like a newly parents guring out how to take care of an
infant. Jessica shook her head at that thought with a mocking smile. She stared at
Tianys face and let out a smirk, it just is absurd to even to have such thoughts.
But she doesnt deny the fact that Tiany had crawled into her heart unknowingly and
she is trying her best not to show it out, because Tiany is someone that doesnt belong
to here.
Tiany does not belong to her.
Kaylie shifted as she turned her head to a side and Jessica look down.
Kaylie doesnt belong to here too.
It feels sad just thinking about it and Jessica doesnt know what will happen to her if
they were to leave one day.
Maybe it wouldnt change much. She should be glad, shouldnt she? That her life is
going back to normal.
But then again, Jessica had already felt that Kaylie and Tiany are part of her life.
And it just hurts that damn much when she envision her future without the two of them.
But what has to come will come.
And you will have no choice but to accept it.
The only choice you have is how would you accept it?
Bravely or cowardly? Choosing to accept it as it is or making an escape to shield the hurt
that is going to be inicted on you?
Jessica shook her head at those thoughts and bent down, placing a swift kiss on Kaylies
forehead. She turned and looked at Tianys face, raising a hand; she ran the back of her
ngers against the smooth skin and gritted her teeth hardly.
Jessica stood up stealthily and exited her room, leaving the two loves of her life sleeping
soundly on her bed.

The loud cries echoed the room woke Jessica, who was sleeping on the couch, awake in
shocked and startled Taeyeon, who was reading her documents in the kitchen
accompanying Sunny who was cooking for their dinner. Taeyeon looked up from her
documents and looked at Sunny who turned her body around to the entrance. Soon,
Jessicas gure appeared as she walked towards her room and both heard the door
clicked closed.
That was loud.
Taeyeon muttered while Sunny nodded her head.
Hope its nothing.
Sunny replied as she placed the spatula down and wiped her hands on the table cloth,
walking over to the fridge to take out some ingredients.
What happened?
Jessica asked once she entered the room. Kaylie was crying on top of her lungs, in
Tianys arms as she patted on her bum and stared right down at her.
Tiany? What happened?
Jessica asked again, since her voice was covered by Kaylies cries. She went forward to
Tiany and crouched down in front of them. Tianys face was serious as she looked at
Kaylie in silence. Jessica frowned at that scene and she brought one hand up, cupping
Tianys right cheek as she called out again.
Tiany?
Tiany snapped out of her trance once she felt softness on her cheek, she looked up and
saw Jessica looking at her worriedly. Tiany bit down on her lips and let out a shaky
whisper.
Kaylies running a fever.
Jessica looked down at the little girl that was still crying in Tianys arms and a small
beeping sound could be heard. Tiany hurriedly took the thermometer out from Kaylies
shirt and checked the monitor.
38.5 degree Celsius.
Tiany gasped while Jessica carried the little girl into her arms and stood up.
Prepare the documents; lets bring her to the clinic now.
Tiany nodded her head as she stood up and went to the drawers to take the necessary
documents while Jessica grabbed a blue and white strip toddler cardigan and walked out
of the room.
Taeng! Sunny! Well be heading to the clinic now, Kaylies running a fever.
Jessica called out as she walked towards the couch and grabbed her car keys, wallet and
phone. Taeyeon and Sunny walked out of the kitchen immediately and saw Tiany
running towards the door where Jessica was at.
Well be back for dinner. Ill contact you guys again.
Jessica called out as she closed the door after Sunny called out to them.

The journey to the nearest clinic was nerve wrecking. Kaylie could not stop crying and
Tiany could not stop worrying. Kaylies body was warming and the car was only lled
with Jessicas worried glances sent from the rear mirror, Tianys sweet whisper and
Kaylies uncomfortable cries.
Its okay, sweetie. Mummys here. Well be going to see Doctor MacKay soon.
Tiany whispered once again when the car pulled to a stop and Jessica turned o the
engine and went out of the car, Tiany followed suit and both entered the clinic. Kaylie
was attended soon since the clinic was quite empty and nally all the chaos ended,
leaving silence and peace in Jessicas mind. Kaylie was given an injection, the doctor
saying that it was just inuenza. Both, were however being warned for catching the
virus from the little one and had to pay more attention on Kaylies condition.
With Kaylie asleep and settled in the room, the four of them nally can sit down and
have their dinner.
Has the fever gone down?
Sunny asked as Jessica plopped herself on the couch after a shower while Tiany was in
the room feeding Kaylie milk.
Yeah, but shes still feverish.
Jessica threw an arm over her eyes as she felt the fatigue coming to her all over at once.
She felt a hand on her head and she let out a grunt, hating the feeling on her head as it
will only make her weak.
Weakness is never in her dictionary.
But when Tiany and Kaylie appear in her life, it seems like the weakness has taken over
the strong.
Dont worry, itll be over soon.
Sunnys voiced rang in her head and she nodded weakly.
Well be going soon. Contact us if you need help and take an early rest.
Taeyeon patted her knee twice and she felt the weight on the couch lifted as both stood
up.
Well close the door and you dont have to send us out.
Taeyeon called after as she went o with Sunny and Jessica let out a sigh as the door
closed.
She stayed in that position for a long time. Long enough till she fell asleep and was
awaken when Tiany shook her gently.
Jessica?
Hmm?
Jessica roused and saw Tiany staring down at her with a half-lled milk bottle in her
hands.
She didnt nish her milk?
No.
Jessica rubbed her face tiredly as she stood up and gave Tiany a smile.
How about her fever?
Its getting down, but still feverish.
Tiany looked down worriedly and Jessica stared at her for a moment. It has always
been like this, Tiany would be fretting and worried when Kaylie is sick and she would
seem to be in a loss. At least, Tiany had grown stronger, she didnt cry like she would
use to for the rst few times Kaylie was sick. Jessica was glad, but at the same time not.
Because when Tiany is weak, she felt herself being protective. She felt that she needs to
be there for her, she needs to make Tiany feels better and she needs to make herself
feel better.
And thats probably where she made a biggest mistake of her life. Where she made
something little turned into a habit, a habit that both Tiany and her grew onto.
Jessica reached both her hands out to Tiany and pulled her into her embrace, one hand
around her waist and another smoothing the soft long hair. Tiany complied easily into
her embrace, resting her head on Jessicas shoulder, face buried into the crook of her
neck as she breathes in Jessicas scent. Her hands encircled around Jessicas waist
naturally and Tiany felt secured immediately.
Its okay. Im here. Im here.
And Jessica wondered how long could she be here for Tiany.
And Tiany wondered how long she could have Jessica here for her.

The call ended and the phone was being twirled in the hands before the owner clutched
it tightly again. The familiar number was punched in once again and the phone was
brought to the ears.
Pick it up, please.
It was a desperate statement, despite the call operators had dened it clearly that the
number was no longer in use, but the caller still hopes that it will get through one day.
After all, the caller had been doing it for almost a year and the hope was still pinned on
it up till this day.
A/N: Hey guys! Hope you enjoy this update! And a lot of people has been asking what
does da - da means. Remember what Jessica called Kaylie as? "Darling." She called her
before Kaylie could speak and when Kaylie learns to speak, the rst thing she tried
calling Jessica is "Da - da". Why? Because she's imitating Jessica calling her "Darling" but
it was too long for her, so it ended up as "Da - da".

wow! another great update. You have left several questions in this chapter. As what
happened with Soo jung? Who is the person at the end?
Beyond that, the Jeti relationship is strong. They have each other to lean on and that
hug speaks volumes. Only the description of it made me happy.
Oh, I was with the nerves in bloom with the crying baby was happily a fever that is
being controlled. The baby is very cute and his relationship with Jessica is very strong.
I want Jeti advance! I would also like to know much more, I like the ash back. XD
