1. Load Cells
Load Cells are the strain gauge sensors used for weighing process. A load cell converts the weight applied on it analogue signal. Output of the load cell is connected to the PLC Based digital control panel through a Junction box. The number of load cells used is depends on the number of tank lugs and total weight acting upon the load cell.
2. Mounting Kits
These are mechanical support structures for load cell mounting. The advantages of the mounting kits are,
a) It provides proper and rigid and mounting of the load cells.
b) Due to the mounting kit the force act vertically in the weighing direction over the weighing area of load cells to avoid the error in output.
c) The load cell will not affected by the side and external forces like wind, ladder etc…
d) It Keep the load cells away from the direct contact of the tank. Hence avoiding the risk of damage to the tank if the load cell brakes.
3. Temporary Supports
Temporary Supports are used to support or maintain the height and position of tank at the time of tank installation. They are the replacements for the load cell assembly. After the successful installation tank, each temporary support is replaced by the load cell assembly one by one.
4. Junction Box
Junction Box is used to trim the cable routing to minimum and helps to reduce the noise. The output from all load cells are summed in a junction box and it is connected to control panel as a single input.
5. PLC Based Control Panel
Siemens S7 200 PLC is used to control the application processes and Siemens Siwarex module used for the weighing purpose. These two are reliable and high precision electronics components used in industry.
OPERATION
The PLC Based Digital Control Panel works in three different modes.
A. Semi – Auto Mode
B. Auto Mode
C. User Mode
A. Semi – Auto Mode
1. Filling
a) Start – User can start the filling by pressing the start push button.
b) Stop – User can stop filling at any time during the operation by pressing the stop push button. If required, user can set the High Set Point Value in SETTINGS MODE, in order to stop the filling process once the High Set Point Value is reached.
2. Extract
a) Start – User can start extracting material by pressing the start push button.
b) Stop – User can stop extracting material at any time during the operation. If required, user can set the Low Set Point Value in the SETTINGS MODE, in order to stop the extracting process once the Low Set Point Value is reached.
c) Extract Set Point – If required, user can extract a specific amount of material by setting the value of ‘Extract Set Point’ in the SETTINGS Mode. By Pressing extract start button the material will be extracted and will stop automatically at the specified extract set point value.
B. Auto- Mode
1. Filling
Start – Filling will start automatically when the net weight (material weight) reaches at Low Set Point Value. And stop automatically when net weight reaches the High Set Point Value.
2. Extract Set Point – If required User can extract a specified amount of material by setting the value of amount to be extracted at the Extract Set Point option in the SETTINGS Mode. By Pressing extract start button the material start to extract and stop at the specified extract set point value.
