A farmer and his family return home at dawn after spending a night searching for their son's albino buffalo in a flood. Their clothes are torn and their bodies are scratched and wounded from being in the floodwater, but they do not look despairing. Though they spent the whole day and night braving the flood looking between dead animals and tree debris, they did not find the buffalo. Having grown up in hardship without complaining, they now sit in the kitchen making jokes while preparing cigarettes, accepting their situation stoically.
