Theissueariseswhenyouattempttoinstalla2

versionofCPS,thesoftwarewillreportthatyoualreadyhaveCPS
installed.
InordertoinstallmultipleversionsofCPSyouwillneedtouseatoolcalled,MendInstall.Exewhichispackaged
withinthezipfileoftheCPSv5.05.14.002software.ThistooldeletestheWindowsRegistryentriesinyour
computerthattheCPSsoftwaresets,allowingyoutoinstallmultipleversions.
Dontjumpahead,thereismoreyouneedtodofirstinorderforthistoworkproperly.
Hereisastepbystepprocesswhichwillguideyouthroughtheprocess.

1) CreateafolderonyourdesktopandcallitHytera.

2) Downloadandcopyintothisfolderthefollowingfilesfromourwebsite,orifyouhavethemalreadystored
onyourcomputer,copythemtothisfolder.

3) IfyouhavenotalreadyinstalledtheHyteraradiodriverforthiscomputer,downloadthatandsaveittothe
sameHyterafolder.Installthedriverandproceedtothenextstep.

4) ProceedtounzipeachofthefilesyouhavedownloadedintotheHyteradirectoryyoucreatedonyour
Desktop.Besuretounzipthemintotheirowndirectoryasshownbelow:

5) DoubleclicktheDMR_SW_CPS_V5.05.14.002.NA2directory.Ifyoudownloadedthisfromthewebsite,it
maybelistedasWF_DMR_SW_CPS_V5.05.14.002.NA2whichisoneofthesame.

6) DoubleclicktheMendInstall.exefileandfollowalongbelow:

7) PresstheEnterkeytocontinue.

8) Dependinguponwhichversionofwindowsyouarerunning,youmayreceivethisscreenbelow.Ifyoudo,
simplyclick,ThisprograminstalledcorrectlyandthenclickCloseifitdoesnotcloseautomatically.

9) ClickontheEnterkeytoexitthisscreen.Youarenowreadytoproceedtoinstall.

10) GototheHyteradirectoryyoucreatedonyourdesktopanddoubleclickthefollowingfolder:

13) Aftersetupcompletes,CPSwillhavebeeninstalledinthefollowingdirectory:
ForWindowsXP:C:\ProgramFiles\Hytera\CustomerProgrammingSoftware
ForWindows7:C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\Hytera\CustomerProgrammingSoftware

YouwillneedtonavigatetothisdirectoryusingWindowsExplorerandrenamethedirectoryasfollows:

14) Onceyouhaverenamedthedirectory,theiconthatwascreatedonyourdesktopwillnolongerwork,soyou
willneedtorecreatetheiconinordertolaunchthesoftware.

TorecreatetheiconusingWindows7,useWindowsExplorertonavigatetothedirectoryyoujust
renamed,andlookfor

16) RightClicktheiconandrenameittothefollowing,CPSv5.05.14.002.NA2asshownbelow:

Note:Youwillnotseethefullnameintheimagebecausewindowsdoesnotdisplaythefullnameuntilyou
singleclicktheicon.Thisonlyhappensifthenamecontainsmorethan16characters.

ForWindowsXPusers,theprocessisthesameexceptthatWindowswillnotoffertocreatetheshortcutonyour
desktop,insteadWindowswillcreatetheshortcutinthesamedirectoryastheCPS.exefileislocatedin.
ContinuewiththeshortcutcreationandthenrenametheshortcutthesameasyouwouldinWindows7.Once
youhavecreatedtheshortcutandrenamedtheshortcut,leftclicktheshortcutyoujustcreatedandthendrag
ittotheDesktoporyoucanrightclicktheshortcutandCut&PasteittothedesktoporCopyittothe
Desktop.

17) Beforeproceedingfurther,findyournewlycreatedicononyourdesktopanddoubleclicktheicontoverify
thatCPSrunsandthesplashscreendisplaysthecorrectversionyouhaveinstalled.Thesplashscreenshould
displaythesameversionasthenameoftheiconyoucreatedonthedesktop.

18) YouarenowreadytoinstallthenextversionofCPS.Proceedbacktostep#5andfollowtheinstructions
againforCPSv5.06.01.009orforwhateverotherversionyouareinstalling.Remembertorunthe
MendInstall.exefilepriortoinstallationofthenextCPS.

Theonlychangesyouwillmakefromtheseinstructionsismakingsureyourenamethenewlycreated
directory;CustomerProgrammingSoftware"tothenewversionsuchas,CPSv5.06.01.009.NA2and
makingsurethatyounametheShortcutandthedirectorythesameaswell.Allotherinstructionsarethe
same.
