This document provides steps for modeling a water reticulation system using Aquator software. Key steps include: 1) cleaning and scaling an imported CAD drawing, 2) adding layers and drawing water lines, 3) saving the CAD file and importing it into Aquator, 4) modeling the system in Aquator by adding nodes, demands, fittings and running calculations, 5) viewing the system in 2D and 3D and generating reports. The 13-step process allows users to accurately design a water reticulation system in Aquator based on a CAD drawing.

Aquator Manual Training
This document provides steps for modeling a water reticulation system using Aquator software. Key steps include: 1) cleaning and scaling an imported CAD drawing, 2) adding layers and drawing water lines, 3) saving the CAD file and importing it into Aquator, 4) modeling the system in Aquator by adding nodes, demands, fittings and running calculations, 5) viewing the system in 2D and 3D and generating reports. The 13-step process allows users to accurately design a water reticulation system in Aquator based on a CAD drawing.
ITEM STEP 1. Clean The Drawing a. Faster analysis in the software b. Prevent bad/error entities c. More accurate result d. Smoother modeling experience i. Ensure the drawing does not contain 3D element /entities. ii. To ensure higher quality of clean drawing, copy necessary layers and paste to a new drawing.
2. Scale a. To prevent error or entities
i. The best scale to import to the Aquator is 1:1. 3. Add New Layers a. CSSS-USERWATER i. Select LAYERS icon
ii. Select NEW icon to add new layers. iii. Type for new layer (make sure in capital letter and spell with right) and change any colour user want; a. CSSS-USERWATER
ITEM STEP 4. Draw water reticulation lines. a. Need to use single line to draw. b. Make sure stop at intersection.
a) CSSS-USERWATER i. Make sure change the current layer to CSSS-USERWATER ii. Select single line and start to draw the water reticulation line. iii. Make sure draw the single line and stop at every intersection. iv. Node will be created based the mouse click.
5. Save project a. Project need to be close before import the drawing into the INFRAVERA software i. Select FILE. ii. Select SAVE AS to save the project.
iii. Save the project iv. Close/Exit the project before import into the software
3. ADD TAPPING POINT & PRESSURE HEAD STEP 1. Select first node as tapping point. In yellow colour, the node is selected. 2. Go to properties tab , at left hand side software. 3. At properties tab, Input term, change tapping point to TRUE. 4. Indicate the value for tapping pressure head by insert the number.
4. WATER DEMAND (Q) i) Have two methods to key in; a. By Table b. By Properties
STEP a. By table 1. Select last nodes, for example, node number 5. 2. By right click mouse at nodes, the mouse properties will pop up. 3. Select for table. CHANGE TO TRUE KEY IN THE PRESSURE HEAD VALUE
4. Table for water demand will pop up. 5. Select ADD button to add the table. 6. Select CALC button to calculate the sub total Q. 7. Item for type of house, unit of house and water demand unit can be choosing based user. 8. Select OK if satisfied with the data.
9. Done water demand for that node.
b. By Properties 1. Select the nodes, and go to properties. 2. Indicate the level for that water demand manually. 3. For example, 0.52. i. SELECT THE NODES ii. SELECT TABLE ii. SELECT CALC BUTTON iii. SELECT OK BUTTON i. SELECT ADD BUTTON
STEP 1. By select the pipe, right click mouse at that pipe. 2. Select for fitting or pump. If select for fitting, choose the types of fitting to add on. 3. For example, select for air valve fitting.
4. Air valve fitting icon will appear at layout. 5. Key in the head loss for air valve, by select component at properties.
i. SELECT FITTING ii. SELECT AIR VALVE i. SELECT THE COMPONENT ii. KEY IN THE HEAD LOSS
4. Section will appear at section layout. 5. To change the datum of slope, select SETUP button. 6. Setup for CAD section will pop up, search for DATUM, and change the value. For example 80. 7. Done change the datum value, select OK button. 8. The data need to be change by re-select BUILD button. 9. The section with new datum will be pop up again at layout section too.
TICK ALL THE SECTION SELECT BUILD CHANGE THE DATUM VALUE SELECT OK BUTTON
10. 3D VIEW i) To view data input in 3D environment.
STEP 1. Select 3D View icon. 2. 3D image will appear.
11. CALCULATION i) Break down water reticulation calculation. STEP . Select Calculation icon. 2. The data calculation table will be pop up. 3. Click Select All button, and then Select show button. 4. The calculation will be appear.
2. Select WATER iconto generate the report. 3. The report will be pop up. 4. To change the format of report, select file and select EXPORT DOCUMENT and choose the format. 5. Or user also can select Export Document icon to change the format.
