James Phillip Thomas, M.D.

Dr James spent his early life in Michigan, the son of an anesthesiologist. . After 8 years, B.S and M.D. degree in hand
from Pennsylvania State University, he studied otolaryngology at Southern Illinois University. He continued his
migration westward to Portland, Oregon, opening a general laryngology practice for a brief time before further
specializing. Traveling in Europe and the US, visiting established laryngologists, he designed his own fellowship in
laryngology before embarking on his present career of teaching and practicing laryngology.
He has taught at the university level and continues to offer preceptorships to medical students from Oregon Health Sciences
University. Speech therapists, voice teachers and post graduate fellows from around the world study the subspecialty of laryngology
with him. He frequently travels around the globe in order to teach surgical and diagnostic skills to established otolaryngologists.

Ashok R. Shaha,
M.D., F.A.C.S., PROFESSOR OF SURGERY
JATIN P. SHAH CHAIR IN HEAD AND NECK SURGERY,
MEMORIAL SLOAN-KETTERING CANCER CENTER

Dr. Shaha is an Attending Surgeon on the Head and Neck Service at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center,
Jatin P. Shah Chair in Head and Neck Surgery, and Professor of Surgery at Cornell University Medical College,
New York. Dr. Shaha completed his surgical training in Baroda, India and worked as a House Surgeon at Tata Memorial Hospital,
where he developed an interest in head and neck surgical oncology. After his arrival at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center
in 1975, Dr. Shaha did a surgical oncology fellowship and subsequently completed his surgical training at Downstate Medical Center
in Brooklyn, New York. During his post-graduate training, Dr. Shaha secured several gold medals and was given the Golden Apple
Teaching Award at Downstate Medical Center. Other awards Dr. Shaha received include: Faculty Member of the AOA Honor
Medical Society, the Outstanding Teacher Award at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in 1996, the Honor Award from the
American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery, and he was named Visiting Professor of the Society of Head and
Neck Surgeons in 1997 and 1998. He has been honored by visiting professorships at University of Santa Tomas, Manila, and Sun
Yat-Sen University Guang Zhou, China. Recently Dr. Shaha was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award by the American
Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery; he was President of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons.
Dr. Shaha has been academically active at national and international meetings, with approximately 610 papers, 462 of which are
peer-reviewed (Pubmed and Scopus). He was Chairman of ATCHNO Fellowships in the USA for ten years and recipient of the
Distinguished Service Award by the Head and Neck Society twice.

NATIONAL FACULTY
Kenny Pang
Dr Kenny Pang, an ENT specialist graduated in 1994 from the Faculty of Medicine, National University of
Singapore. He attained his Fellowship exams from both the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and
Ireland in 1999 and 2002 respectively.He also passed his Masters of Medicine (Otorhinolaryngology) in 2001
He is well trained ENT doctor in treating all forms of sleep disorders, including snoring, obstructive sleep apnoea, insomnia,
narcolepsy, sleep walking, night terrors, bed wetting, and parasomnias.Dr Pang is a fellow of the American Academy of Sleep
Medicine and the American Surgical Modification Task Force. He has published over 25 articles in international peer-reviewed
journals and written over 10 chapters in the various American textbooks. He is a reviewer for the prestigious ENT journal, the
Laryngoscope, the Singapore Medical Journal and the Canadian Medical Journal.In 1993, Dr Pang was awarded the Pathology
Distinction and Margaret Ling Ming Yee Award. He was the first prize recipient of the Young ENT Investigator's Award at the
Annual ENT Society Meeting in 2002.In 2003, he received the Dr Lily Neo/People's Association Appreciation Award.The following
year, Dr Pang received the Ministry of Health, Overseas Specialty Training Program Award. In May 2006, he was awarded the Service
Excellence, Star Award, in Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Cesare Piazza is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the
University of Brescia, Italy. He received his MD degree at the University of Pavia and he completed his residency
programme in Otolaryngology in Brescia. His clinical and research activities
are focused on head and neck oncology, with special emphasis to laryngeal, tracheal, oral, and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Piazza is
an active member of the European Laryngological Society since 2000 and part of its Scientific Council since September 2010. He is
member of the European Board of Examination for Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery since November 2011. He
authored or co-authored 66 papers in peer-reviewed journals as well as 63 book chapters. He delivered 382 proffered papers and
invited lectures in national and international Congresses and Courses. He serves as Editor of the Current Opinion in Otolaryngology
& Head and Neck Surgery journal for the Head and Neck Oncology issue since 2010 and board member since 2013.

Dr Sachin Gandhi S is a consultant ENT surgeon, Phonosurgeon and coordinator, dept of ENT,Deenanath Mangeshkar
Hospital and Research Center, since 2002. He is the founder director, Voice and swallowing disorder Clinic Smt
Vimalbai Mutha National Institute & Lazer Science . He is the founder and vice president, Laryngology and Voice
Association and visiting professor , Tri Service General Hospital, Taiwan since 2005.
He has published about 38 papers in different journals and authored books and chapters on lasers in laryngology and Laryngeal trauma

Dr Bajendra baser is an international renowned Rhinoplasty surgeon based in Indore. He is the professor and chief of
ENT Head and neck surgery at Shri Aurobindo Medical College , Indore and Director of Akash Superspeciality Hospital,
Indore. He is very well known across the country for his zeal in teaching and helping the branch of facial plastic surgery
grow in the ENT speciality. He has delivered various key orations and invited talks at national and international forums.
He is a member of board of directors for the Pan Asia Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and is currently
incharge in India.
He has written several Research papers on the subject of Rhinoplasty and has authored a widely sold book on Rhinoplasty and is
a chapter author in various publications

Dr Manoj Aggarwal,
Dr Manoj Agarwal is a Consultant ENT Surgeon, based in Kolkata. He is the Director of The Malleus Co, Speciality ENT Clinic.
His special areas of interest include Otology, Neurotology and Lateral Skull Base Surgery and is particularly fond of Imaging
of the Temporal Bone. He was privileged to receive his training in Lateral Skull Base Surgery from Prof Mario Sanna, Italy.
He has a number of International and National Publications and is regularly invited as a guest faculty for talks on imaging
and dissection of the temporal bone.

in middle ear implants, Kidwai Institute Bangalore in Head and Neck Surgery.Pioneered as the First cochlear implant
surgeon, Kerala running India's largest pediatric cochlear implant program and most successful in term of outcomes.
Being the owner of MESIARC, India's best equipped ENT Hospital, he runs One of the largest otologic surgery centers in India. He
has to his credit of opening the First Sialendoscopy center in Kerala and performing theFirst Bone bridge implant in India. His
