Conference Call Set For Aug. 26
A teenage boy is getting ready to take his girlfriend
to the prom. First he goes to rent a tux, but theres a
long tux line at the shop and it takes forever. Next, he
has to get some fowers, so he heads over to the forist
and theres a huge fower line there. He waits forever but
eventually gets the fowers. Ten he heads out to rent a
limo. Unfortunately, theres a large limo line at the rental
ofce, but hes patient and gets the job done.
Finally, the day of the prom comes. Te two are
dancing happily and his girlfriend is having a great
time. When the song is over, she asks him to get her
some punch, so he heads over to the punch table and
would you believe it? Teres no punchline.
ST. MARIE VILLAGE- Te Village Annual Meeting took
place Aug. 20th down at the town hall and was uneventful. Terry
Lees previous case against the ladies serving as directors of the
Village Board was DISMISSED on June 4th and his current
MOTION requesting a temporary restraining order to prohibit
holding an election at the annual Village meeting was DENIED.
Te following is a RE-CAP of the annual meeting:
Nilla Hansen opened the meeting with a moment of silent
prayer for those residence members whove passed on and lead
in the pledge of allegiance. She then thanked DeAnn Ketchum
for getting all the paperwork and budget ready for the meeting.
Tere was a quorum declaration and the standing rules were read.
Minutes of the 2013 annual meeting were handed out and they
were accepted. Per the 2009 Judges order to amend the bylaws,
only members in good standing (paid up) were qualifed to vote
or be nominated to serve. Linda Tihlarik was nominated to be
elected to the one available three year term as Village Director
and no others were nominated. As required, voting took place
by paper ballot and Tihlarik was elected. DeAnn Ketchum
explained all the budget items on the handouts provided to all,
the largest expense being street lights. Board President Nilla
Hansen related that 10 pallets of EZ Street Cold Patch (56
bags per pallet) were purchased to fx street pot holes and that
Director Sandy Nigh would coordinate and ramrod the repair
efort. Additionally Hansen stated that the annual assessments
will remain at $90 per unit, thanked all Village members for their
support, and welcomed new members and renters to St. Marie.
Jackie Bird made the motion and the meeting was adjourned.
LADIES DOMINOS- Elinor Lindsay was the grand winner
of whits and chips called dominos.
LADIES BUNKO- Most bunkos- Robin Carroll, most
wins- Lea Puchalla, most snake eyes- Myrna Kautz, most beans-
Wanda Gunderman, most losses- Mary Ann Price, last bunko-
JoAnn Chiechi.
GENTLEMANS CLUB- Last week Blackjack Jerry
Ketchum wooped everbody and Byern Lindsay provided cold
cuts of cheeses and sausages and retata salad. Tis week Walter
Wayne Watts was gooder than the rest and was the big winner.
Steve Nigh brought beef stroganof made by his lovely wife
Sandy.
SICKNESS- Noreen Smith is home and on the mend. Her
dear friend Richard Gere is urging her to work hard in physical
therapy so that they can attend George Clunys nuptials in Italy.
St. Marie Happenings
Hang in there Aussie!
ISSUES/ACTIVITY- Big drug bust with guns out, property
title issues, need lawn/alfalfa mowing, consultant Nygaards
report on St. Marie. Future articles will expand on these issues
and happenings afer further investigation and verifcation.
COMMENT- Blazes, seems like a lot of things in St. Marie
is in a stew! Well, in time all these misrenagulations are sure
to come out and be solved. Whilest the good folks of St. Marie
keep plowing forward in a righteous manner, they continue to
endeavor to persevere. I do believe that things are coming to
a head and that all questions and problems will surface and be
settled.
DECLARE- I attempt to write with integrity, truth, and
balance....about what people should know. I assume the
watchdog role with a due diligence style and in a Mark Twain
tone at times. I attempt to clarify murky issues with facts,
questions, and opinion writing (myself/others) at times, using
substantiated facts.
BALANCE- In keeping with my aim of balance reporting
and writing about what is important, here are Merrill Frantzs
issues and concerns taken verbatim from an interview I had
with him:
1. Court Orders are needed to clear up St. Marie property titles.
2. Question- use of the land or percentage owners? Who legally
owns the land in St. Marie?
3. Which documents are in place to govern St. Marie?
4. What are the consequences of current St. Marie policies?
RESULTS- Later writings will cover responses as they
develop, afer litigation, investigation, and verifcation.
NOTE- Even though Frantz and I are not in agreement on all
issues, we meet, discuss/argue, and DO AGREE on one thing....
Te NEED to force out all St Marie historical and questionable
issues of 20 years and bring them to closure. Cleaning up old
problems is GOOD!
