Getting Started
Getting Started
The W/Me is a Bluetooth enabled rhythmic breathing coach that can also measure your autonomic
nervous system.
This section will guide you through the basic preparations before starting to use your W/Me Wristband.

4 Initial Setup
Initial Setup
Step 1: Charge the Battery
IMPORTANT!
Charge the device for at least 1-2 hours before you start to use it.
1. Flip the buckle and pull the latch open on one side of the replaceable wristband.
2. Bend down and disengage the other side of the replaceable wristband.

3. Connect the wristband to the USB power adapter or into the USB port on your portable
device.
NOTE:
Red LED lights on, indicating battery charging is in progress.
Green LED lights on, indicating the battery is fully charged.

4. When charging is complete, follow steps 1 and 2 in reverse order, to engage the
replaceable wristband to the W/Me Wristband.

Initial Setup
Step 2: Download the W/Me App
NOTE: The W/Me App is available only for iOS portable devices.
1. In your portable device, tap to open App Store.
2. Search for WMe and install on your portable device.
Step 3: Turn On the Device
Press and hold the LSA sensor button for 3 seconds. The W/Me Wristband lights up and vibrates.

Step 4: Connect W/Me Wristband to Your Mobile
Device
NOTE:
W/Me Wristband can only pair with ONE device at a time.
Make sure Bluetooth is turned On on your mobile device.
Make sure your W/Me Wristband is near your portable device, within the Bluetooth signal
receiving range.
1. Tap on your portable device.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions to register your personal data including gender, height
(cm or ft), weight, and birthday.
The notifcation messages appears on screen, asking to pair W/Me or edit profle.
3. Tap and select your wristband on the Select W/Me device screen.
NOTE: If the pairing is established, wristband LED blinks green for 3 times.
Your W/Me Wristband is ready to be explored!

To access the menu items, you need to turn on your W/Me Wristband (see Step 3: Turn On the
Device on page 5) and press LSA sensor button.

Time and Battery With a short press of LSA sensor button, W/ME Wristband will se-
quentially show time and remained battery. The time is automatically
synchronized with your portable device.

Facebook
Check-In
When the wristband is On with no icon shown, long press for 3 sec-
onds to check-in on Facebook via your wristband.

Heart Rate
Measurement
In the heart rate measurement, touch the LSA sensors and allow the
wristband to measure your heart rate Without mobile device. The
updated result will appear every 5 seconds. When done with the
measurement, short press 3 times to exit.

Find Your Portable
Device
Long press with the icon to make your mobile device play sound and
allow you to fnd it. Long press to stop the sound and exit.

Bluetooth Long press with the icon to activate Bluetooth and manually pair
with your WMe app.

Flashlight Short press to scroll through 3 listing modes. Long press to exit.

W/Me Tag Long press with the icon to show the nickname of your wristband.
You can open the WMe app and tap -> Settings > Pair W/Me to
label your wristband.

Power switch Long press with the icon to turn off W/Me Wristband.

NOTE: The W/Me Wristband is compatible with iOS device, Bluetooth 4.0. The supported portable
devices are as follows: iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPad mini, iPad with Retina display, iPod touch 5th
Generation.

NOTE: To access the W/Me application main screen for the frst time, follow the steps in Step 4:

Measure Function
Measure Function
Use Measure function to analyze your heart rate and breathing. In the results you will see your mental
state (passive, excitable, pessimistic, anxious), agility and ANS age.
To start measuring, do as follows:
NOTE: Make sure your W/Me Wristband is connected to your portable device (see Step 4: Connect
W/Me Wristband to Your Mobile Device on page 6.).
1. Find yourself a comfortable position.
2. Tap .
3. Tap MEASURE.
4. Tap on your profle name or enter as a Guest.
NOTE: If you enter as a Guest, the W/Me app asks you to enter your gender and
birthday.

CAUTION!
To avoid turning off the wristband and terminate the measuring, DO NOT press the LSA-1
during the measurement.
NOTE: Stay calm and avoid moving during the measurement.
6. Steadily touch and hold the LSA-1 and LSA-2 sensors in one of the following manners:
One of the sensors with the left side of your body and the other sensor with the right
side of your body
Wear the wristband so that the LSA-2 sensor is in contact with your wrist and at the
same time with the other hands fnger touches the LSA-1 sensor.
NOTE: If your hands sweat often, wipe the sweat off before touching the sensors, to
avoid affecting the measuring procedure.

7. Wait and keep on holding the LSA sensors until the W/Me application fnishes the
measurement.
NOTE:
Wave: The waves follow your breathing: waves go up -inhale, waves go down
-exhale.
EKG Graph: Displays the rhythm of your heartbeat.
BPM: Displays your heart rate per minute.
Status: Displays the measurement status.

Understanding the result:
Mental State Scale: Displays the available fve mental statuses: passive, excitable,
pessimistic, anxious, balanced.
Your Current Mental Status: Displays your current mental status after the Measure
test.
BPM: Your average heart rate in beats per minute.
Agility: Displays your agility. The higher the score, the more resilient you are to
stress.
ANS Age: By comparing data with others, shows the age of your autonomic nervous
system.

12 Coaching Function
Coaching Function
Use Coaching function to improve your breathing. You can choose between 5 different levels and
1 programmable level to practice your abdominal breathing. Each level is defned by a different
breathing rhythm. The higher the level, the slower and deeper your breathing needs to be. The virtual
breathing coach will help you to improve your ANS agility.
To start coaching, do as follows:
1. Find yourself a comfortable position.
2. Tap .
3. Tap COACHING.
4. Tap on the desired practice level.
5. Take a time to memorize your coaching plan. The coaching plan instructs you to inhale,
hold and exhale in a period of time in seconds.
NOTE: If you tap on M then you are asked to confgure manually number of cycles,
inhale, hold and exhale in seconds.
6. Tap on START to begin with the practise.

NOTE: When the W/Me app is in Coaching mode, the LED on your wristband
automatically lights On.
7. Follow steps 5 to 6 in Measure Function on page 9.
8. Wait and keep on holding the LSA sensors until the W/Me application fnishes the
measurement.
NOTE:
Virtual Coach: Follow the whales movements. Acoording to the coach plan, start
inhaling when the whale comes up, hold your breath when the whale is still, exhale when
the whale goes down.
EKG Graph: Displays the rhythm of your heartbeat.
BPM: Displays your heart rate per minute.
Hit: Counts your breathing rhythm that matches the coach plan.
Status: Displays the coaching status.
Cyle: Displays the breathing cycles. One cycle includes: inhaling, holding, exhaling.
