Hello everyone!
After a short summer break, we are back!
Please take a look at this issue's lovely dogs and pass on to anyone you think might provide a great home for one of them. There are some wonderful seniors and a couple special needs sweeties.
There are also two great fundraisers for two great animal organizations featured. Please support them if you can.
In the effort to control pet overpopulation, the Animal Adoption Center in Jackson operates a mobile spay/neuter clinic and also has started offering vouchers for low cost spay/neuter surgeries for dogs and cats. Information about the program is below. Please spread the word to folks you think might benefit from it. Additionally, if you have the means, consider donating to keep this program going!
Thank you for your interest in homeless pets!

TIME LIMITED: Must be moved soon. Time can be extended if a place is found and transport is being ar- ranged. SPECIAL NEEDS/ SENIOR: Must be moved soon. Time can be extended if a place is found and transport is being arranged. OTHER: In critical need of help but does not ft in another category (i.e., hit by car, needs donations for emergen- cy surgery). UPDATE: Good news. August 11, 2014 e-WOOF is a bi-monthly e-newsletter produced by a small group of Wyoming dog rescuers in an effort to high- light shelter dogs in critical need of help. e-WOOF spotlights many dogs that face euthanasia within days unless they are rescued, fostered, or adopted. Transport can be arranged, in most cases, to approved adoptive or foster homes or rescue organizations. Please help us! These are good, healthy, happy, lov- ing dogs that are out of luck and out of time. We urge you to crosspost to e-mail lists and Web groups, forward to friends, send to co-workers, and share with family. We hope our efforts, combined with yours, will save many lives. HOAGIE is a 2-3 year old Yellow Lab mix. Poor Hoagie was abandoned in his backyard when his owners moved away. From what we know about him so far, he adores everyone! He just wants to be near to you, and loves the companionship of other dogs! We are assuming from his laidback and friendly personality that he would be great with cats also; we are happy to test him with a cat! He would make a wonderful addition to any family.
HOPE is a young Black Lab Mix. This is one sweet girl, but she is defnitely still a puppy who has not had much training. She has a couple of not so nice habits right now, but she is young and smart enough that these habits should be easy to break! Hope is also a little nervous around men at frst, but would warm up quickly in a home. She is such an affectionate girl who would probably be a wonderful family dog with young children!
MOLLY is a 2 year old Lab/Terrier mix. Molly loves to go for walks and loves attention. Molly is a sweet and laidback girl! She would be best in a home without other dogs. ____________ City of Powell, WY Contact: 307.754.2212 or [email protected] BRONSON is a 2-year-old neutered and vaccinated Rottweiler/ Doberman mix dog who has been in the shelter since November 2013. Bronson is desperate for a new home as he is tired of being in a kennel without a familys attention. Maybe you need a new camp/bear dog? Can you help? Adoption fee waived to a great home. Contact 754-1019 TOBIAS is a 10-week-old tabby/ white male kitten who is blind. Tobias needs a SPECIAL NEEDS home where she will feel safe and well cared for. ____________ BRONSON HOAGIE HOPE MOLLY TOBIAS Page 2 -- August 11, 2014 You can nd e-WOOF on-line at: www.ewoof.petnder.com and www.facebook.com/ewoof Electronic Newsletter for Wyomings OUT-OF-OPTIONS Furkids Laramie Peak Humane Society -- Douglas, WY Contact: 307-358-6475 or [email protected] Here are two of our darlings: senior dog AIMEE JOE and senior cat MAX who really need to fnd a warm and loving home where they can live out their golden years! AIMEE JOE: HI EVERYONE!!!! My name is Aimee Joe and I am a 10 year old female Collie mix. I am vaccinated, micro chipped, and spayed. I have had a very hard life and it seems that I can never catch a break! I am quite the love bug and adore being around people and kids! I am good with cats and dogs who are nice to me! I would love to be an inside dog, because I get very upset when I cant be around you all the time! I want to live out my golden years with a family who will show me the love and compassion I deserve. Please come take me home!!! MAX: Hi there! Im Max and Im 9 years young. I am a lover boy who suddenly found myself homeless! But thats okay because I believe when one door closes another one opens. And I just know an awesome family is waiting to make me theirs! I am good boy who loves to be loved and I can give back so much in return. I have a long life ahead of me--want to share it with me? I hope so, but Im willing to wait for the right person, I am patient after all. Hope to see you soon! ____________ Riverton, WY Contact: Kathy Hooper at 307-850-8847 Meet CEDAR. Cedar has not had the best life so far. He was rescued by a good samaritan having been hit with sticks and had rocks thrown at him by some children in a borrow ditch. He was so severely injured he was left crying in pain until we could get him on pain medication. This abuse broke his back leg severely. Cedar was placed in a cast for 6 weeks to try and heal the badly broken leg without surgery. The cast had to be changed frequently to accomodate his growing body. The cast is now off and xrays show Cedars leg is totally healed. He will be neutered soon and will be ready to fnd a loving home who will treat him with the love and respect he deserves. DNA was done on Cedar to be sure what breed(s) he is and it came back that he is American Staffordshire Terrier and Labrador Retriever mix with some Greyhound, Great Dane, and Boxer in his background. He is a really a nice pup who will probably grow to be a larger dog and will be at a great age to start working with training. Cedar is neutered, microchipped, heart worm negative, dewormed, and has had all his shots. A home visit will be required prior to adoption to ensure the adopter is committed to making a lifelong commitment to Cedar. Please contact Kathy Hooper at 307-850-8847 for further details. ____________ Happy Endings Animal Rescue -- Pinedale, WY Contact: 307-360-7800 or [email protected] KELLY is a Border Collie/Heeler mix. As much as I enjoy my alone time, I really want a dog companion in my forever home to keep me happy. Im not much into playing or wrestling so I hope I can have a friend who is also calm and intellectual, like me. My favorite thing in the entire universe is to go for a walk so I can check current events. I have a special friend who has graciously sponsored my adoption fee. ANGIE: Im a bundle of personality wrapped up in really soft fur! My foster parents say Im the perfect size for cuddling, which is my absolute favorite thing to do! Im a really athletic dog and would be a perfect hiking or agility partner. I am a fast runner and would love to go jogging with you! My adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous donor, which means I am FREE to adopt! LAYLA: She is a big puppy who LOVES, LOVES to be around her people. She is active and very much enjoys play--she would really like going to a home with another big dog with whom she could wrestle! Please contact the name/ numbers for each dog before contacting e-WOOF. In most cases, time is limited for the dogs featured in our newsletters- with that in mind, we try to get the word out to as many contacts as we can using this publication. Work on behalf of the animals for fnding them homes and/ or rescues comes from many, many sources and is an ONGOING effort dealt with a sense of urgency. In some cases there may be times when a sudden adoption and/or rescue comes through at the exact time our newsletter is issued. This is an unforeseen circumstance on our part---while we certainly understand the crossover may cause frustrations for you as the prospective adopter of an animal we hope you join us in rejoicing for an animal being saved. Within just a few minutes, a car can get extremely shot, stifing, and deadly. BE VIGILANT ABOUT VET CARE When it starts getting warm outside, take your dog or cat to the vet for a full check up. The check up should include a heartworm test and a fea and tick protection plan. These are year-round issues but in the summer months, with much more outdoors time, its especially important to monitor them. AVOID WALKING YOUR DOG IN THE HEAT Aim for mornings and evenings when letting your dog outside. KEEP YOUR HOME COOL FOR YOUR PETS When the temperature outside gets hot, it can be harder to keep the indoors cool. Keep your air conditioning at a conservative level. Make sure your pet has water and, consider closing curtains to reduce the heating effects of sunlight through the windows. GIVE YOUR PETS ACCESS TO SHADE AND PLENTY OF WATER Pets can get dehydrated or get heatstroke quickly so any pet outside needs to have plenty of water and access to shade.
