The Arizona Fall League has announced organization and staff (managers, pitching coaches, hitting coaches, athletic trainers) assignments for the 2014 Arizona Fall League season that begins Tuesday, October 7. Regarded throughout professional baseball as the finishing school for top prospects since its inception in 1992, the 6-team league features top prospects from every organization in Major League Baseball. The league plays 3 games per day 6 days a week (Monday-Saturday) in 5 Cactus League stadiums. This year, the league adds the new Cubs Park in Mesa as a venue, joining returning sites Camelback Ranch-Glendale, Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, Scottsdale Stadium and Surprise Stadium (two teams).

Peterson played for the U.S. squad, while outfielder Gabby Guerrero represented the World team in the 16th annual SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game on Sunday, July 13 at Target Field in Minneapolis as part of All-Star weekend. Peterson started at 1B and in the 6th position in the lineup, going 1-for-2 with a double. Guerrero hit 7th as the World teams starting DH, going 0-for-2 at the plate.
The Mariners have had 31 selections to the Futures Game since its first began in 1999.
