Expanded Transshipment Model

The document presents an expanded transshipment model problem to minimize utility using linear programming. It defines the steam and cooling water flows between sources and sinks, with their heat capacities and temperature differences. The problem is formulated into equations relating the flows. Random variable values are assigned and the equations are evaluated. The minimum hot and cold utility values are found to be 110 kW and 70 kW respectively using an solver to satisfy all the equations and constraints.

After getting these equations define the variables and the
conditions which are derived above in table.

Detail procedure of the solving these equation is listed below:

first of all take random values of the variables.
after that using that values define the value of the conditions or
the equation .
also define the one target cell or the target value .

Over here the target cell value is the value of the Min Qs+Qw. The
values of variables are assigned above. After that using the value of
variables we get the values of the constants. Which are listed above
as C1, C2 , C3, C4, C5,C6,C7,.C23.

Then select KEEP SOLVER SOLUTION and press OK button.

And finally we get the below values of the variables.
