iv Preface Confidence is wont to come slowly in matters of great moment. that in ending an extremely difficult undertaking, a person must be inspired by the thought that in the discharge of his particular responsibility, he was able to safely aport his ship amidst turbulent waters. Practice Teaching is the preparation of an individual to be a professional teacher. This part of training is manifested after the complex nature of the teacher learning process while taking up the pre-service education. Individuals who intend to become a teacher are required to fully understand and escalate the genuine definition of teaching. And as teaching implies, it is the systematic presentation of facts, ideas, skills, and techniques to the students. Although human beings have survived and evolved as a species partly because of the capacity to share knowledge, teaching as a profession did not emerge until relatively recently in which designated people assumed responsibility for educating the young ones. Teachers are like leaves that flourish everywhere but effective teachers are like fruits, they are rarely found. In view of that, more than knowledge and skills, an effective teacher should be compassionate and understanding. This kind of training inside the pre-service education, you will learn the important factors which are part of the components in searching the true meaning of teaching profession. Student Teaching is the foremost and most important step in moving from amateur status on the way to gain the competencies that mark the factual professional status. The true existence of this certain part of the v student teacher training is not to be focus only to the perfection itself but of striving for competence. Student teaching is a time for growing confidence and beginning expertise to get a chance to learn and put the skills on the line of his own classroom. This portfolio embodies practically all the accounts on the day to day activities of the student teacher. However, selected purposes of student teaching personally targeted by the teacher-candidate have been satisfactorily achieved. First is to provide the teacher-training institution with a means of evaluating its effectiveness and that of any single student or group of students. Another is to enable the student teacher to evaluate his adequacies in terms of personal adjustment, knowledge of the subject matter and ability to employ teaching methods effectively and appropriately. Humbly speaking, these were achieved. With the broadening influences of student teaching at the San Nicolas National High School, it brings with it a series of diverse impressions and judgments. After such, the student teacher consistently looks back to it as the MOST REWARDING single curriculum experience in college. But in its early stage, the student teacher was enamored with it, yet threatened by it; happy to be weaned from theory, but apprehensive about the ability to apply it; stimulated by high school students and teachers, but somewhat appalled by their demands; eager to teach sizeable units of vi learning, but fatigued at their completion; in general, both delighted with, yet more than a little concerned over the situation. Customarily, however, as the day pass, the negative feelings gave way to the positive, with new experiences bringing new successes and other rewards that make all expenditures of thought, time and effort seem worthwhile. Because student teaching is of such inestimable value, the student teacher did not succumb to the lure of easy certification for the requirements of the course. Broadly conceived, I depose and say that student teaching is a valuable testing around for both the student teacher and the program of teacher education and the strengths and limitations of which are brought into the open when theory is applied in a laboratory. Summarily, this is an experience Im proud of, Alta La Fersa Frente. Meaning with head high.
