This document provides instructions for a postgraduate examination in steel building design. It contains two sections with multiple choice and free response questions. Section A contains one question with three parts asking students to: 1) calculate the plastic moment of a beam, 2) analyze two collapse mechanisms using plastic analysis to determine collapse load and mechanism, and 3) draw the bending moment diagram for the calculated collapse load. Section B contains multiple design questions related to beams, columns, connections, and fire protection requirements. Students are only permitted to use approved calculators and must show work for calculations.
