For finalizing the structural drawings and BOM's of 132 KV Tower Type DA ,
Angelique is required to forward clarifications/focus on following points:-
1. Top Plan of Cap Plate 184 may be shown for the purpose of supporting
suspension clamp. In the cage & Peak drawing.
2. Standards of spring washers and flat washers may also be mentioned in the
foot note of every structural drawing.
3. As per clause 4.1 General each tower shall be fitted with an anti-climbing
device (ACD), at a level on tile tower 3 M above highest ground level at tower
base. ACD have been provided in four places as in Basic Body, 9 m, 6 m, 3 m
body extensions. As per specifications, ACD is to be provided at 3 m level
from ground. The basic body tower would hardly be used independently. It will
mostly be used with LE of +/- of 4.5 m height or some time with 9 m, 6 m 3 m
body extension including further +/- 0 LE. How ACD clause of specification
can be adhered to and provision of double ACD is justified.
4. In BOM of Basic Body Tower the reference of other structural drawings of
cage & Peak and cross arms be also mentioned for completeness. Furthermore
column "SECTION" be further sub divided showing Qty,Type, mmxmmxmm,
width(mm)/ Others & length for better clarity and understanding. Like wise
nomenclature of L, PL, F, B,N, FB,SB,SW & Others be mentioned in the foot note
for better understanding by the client. In this regard proposed MOM of Basic
Tower is attached herewith for reference.
5. As per rough estimate about 240 nos suspension towers shall be required to
be erected out of which about 200 nos tower shall be of standard height
satisfying requirement of Ground clearance + max sag + hardware fitting
clearance +150 mm. For first hand glimpse of total weight of standard tower
consisting of Basic Body Tower and four nos. Leg extension of +/- 4.5 m it is
pertinent to prepare a separate BOM of a Standard Tower mentioning references
of all structural drawing nos.
6. As per clause 4.1 General Line name plate indicating Employer's name with
emergency number are also to be provided on every tower. As such provision of
the same may also be done. Below danger plate.
7. You are using stub template above the Leg Extensions. In this regards as already
stated that there would be about 200 nos. suspension towers with basic body and +/- 0
LE. This will practically consume huge time in leveling, adjusting the sag template at
considerable height of 5 m for proper setting of stubs during foundations. Any
improvisation to achieve the efficiency would be required in your interest.
8. In the stub setting dimensions calculations, LE's have been considered from -3 m
to +6 m instead of from -3 m to + 3 m as per specification and approved outline
diagram. Even if vertical dimensions are being considered then dimensions of 7.5 m
may also be considered. How the B/B at the top of stub both horizontally and diagonally
have been arrived at may please be clarified in at least one case by considering
approved base dimensions of B/B 5338 mm in case basic body by arriving final
width after applying develop and considering height of 765.5 mm (300+465.5).
9. For Tower slop for basic body below cage the TAN , face and develop have
been mentioned as 0.10094294, 1.005081826 and 1.010138087 respectively. How
these have been arrived at may please be clarified as we are getting as
0.100709001233046, 1.00505836 and 1.010091385 respectively based on B/B top and
bottom dimensions of basic body.
10. Since AIL have completed detailed survey and are in the process of submission of
detailed profiles and tower schedule. M/s AIL should estimate the provision of numbers
of leg extensions actually required at site.
