SCIENCE NOTEBOOK

Your SCIENCE NOTEBOOK will increase your understanding of science by:


* using writing as a process for discovery
* modeling many functions of scientists recording information, data, and experimental diagrams
* improving your ability to organize ideas and information
* providing you with a study reference for each unit, as well as a resource to review for tests (you can use your
notebook as a reference in high school science)
* demonstrating to your teacher and family your organizational skills and your understanding of scientific
concepts

Think as a scientist record as a scientist and reflect as a scientist!

REQUIRED:
1. One Notebook of at least 200 pages
2. Pages should be numbered consecutively with L and R used for each number; each paged must be titled
and dated
3. This Handout Guide will be glued into the front of the notebook after you and your parent have signed it.
4. First page must contain you last and first name, period and subject
5. Your last and first name will be written on the front by your teacher
6. Any teacher provided handouts must be glued into your notebook
7. If you are absent you are required to update your notebook with any missing information and complete any
missing assignments

NOTE:
1. There will be surprise notebook checks and quizzes
2. Each semester your Notebook Checks will be worth the equivalent of a project

STUDENT: I UNDERSTAND THE PURPOSE OF THE SCIENCE NOTEBOOK AND WILL KEEP MY SCIENCE NOTEBOOK
UP-TO-DATE AND COMPLETE. IF I FALL BEHIND I WILL QUICKLY SEEK OUT TIME EITHER AT LUNCH AND/OR
AFTER SCHOOL TO MAKEUP ANY MISSING ASSIGNMENTS.
