Song: You and I Both Artist: Jason Mraz
This is the version off the album. Best to play it with bar chords. The Gmaj7 isn't exactly right, but the tab at the beginning is, so just play that chord the whole time for it. Enjoy!
G Gmaj7 [3 5 4 4 3 3] Was it you who spoke the words that things would happen but not to me Em Oh things are gonna happen naturally Am Oh taking your advice and I'm looking on the bright side C D And balancing the whole thing G Gmaj7 Oh but often times those words they get tangled up in lines Em And the bright light turns to night Am Oh until the dawn it brings another day to sing C D About the magic that was you and me
G Gmaj7 Cause you and I both loved Em What you and I spoke of Am And others just read of C D Others only read of the love G Gmaj7 Of the love that I love Em yeah la-be-de-dum
G See I'm all about them words Gmaj7 Em Over numbers, unencumbered numbered words Am Hundreds of pages, pages, pages forwards C D More words than I had ever heard and I feel so alive
G Gmaj7 Cause you and I both loved Em What you and I spoke of Am And others just read of C D And if you could see me now oh love love G You and I you and I Gmaj7 Em Not so little you and I anymore
Am And with this silence brings a moral story C D more importantly evolving is the glory of a boy G Gmaj7 Cause you and I both loved Em What you and I spoke of Am And others just read of C And if you could see me now D G Well then I'm almost finally out of Gmaj7 Am Finally ou-ou-out of final-la-de-de-de-da- de C D G Well I'm almost finally finally well I am free oh I'm free
C (8th fret) Dm and it's okay if you had to go away G D oh just remember the telephones well they workin 'em Em both ways C D But if I never ever hear them ring G D if nothing else I'll think the bells inside Em C have finally found you someone else and that's o-o-okay D cause I'll remember everything you sang G Gmaj7 Cause you and I both loved Em What you and I spoke of Am And others just read of C And if you could see me now D G Well then I'm almost finally out of Gmaj7 Am Finally ou-ou-out of final-la-de-de-de-da- de C D G Well I'm almost finally finally well out of words
THE REMEDY - Jason Mraz ------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------ Tabbed by: Krista Email: [email protected]
Tuning: Capo On 3rd
Em Am C G D Bm e|-0---0---0---3---2---2-| B|-0---1---1---3---3---3-| G|-0---2---0---0---2---4-| D|-2---2---2---0---0---4-| A|-2---0---3---2---x---2-| E|-0---x---x---3---x---2-|
I can't believe this has such a poor rating. It's supposed to be acoustic! I know it's not how Jason plays it, but I've seen how he plays it and I've looked at the other tabs that are correct... FYI: These are the exact same chords, it's just in a different key! I made it this way because when he plays it he uses all barred chords which is kind of difficult for some people. These are the same chords, I just transposed it into a different key. (He plays Gm Cm F Bb which believe it or not is capo on 3rd Em Am D G)
Em C G D Bm C G D x2
Em Am I saw fireworks from the freeway D G And behind closed eyes I cannot make them go away Em Am Cause you were born on the fourth of july, freedom ring D G Well something on the surface it stinks Em Am I said something on the surface, well it kind of makes me nervous D G Who says that you deserve this and what kind of god would serve this? Em Am We will cure this dirty old disease D Well if you've got the poison I've got the remedy
Em Am The remedy is the experience D G This is a dangerous liaison Em Am I say the comedy is that its serious D G This is a strange enough new play on words Em Am I say the tragedy is how you're gonna spend D G The rest of your nights with the light on Em Am So shine the light on all of your friends D Well it all amounts to nothing in the end.
G C D Em Bm C D I--- I wont worry my life away. Hey, oh oh. G C D Em Bm C D I--- I wont worry my life away. Hey, oh oh.
Em C G D Bm C G D
Em Am I heard two men talking on the radio D G In a cross fire kind of new reality show Em Am Uncovering the ways to plan the next big attack D G They were counting down the days to stab the brother in the Em Am Be right back after this, the unavoidable kiss, D G Where the minty fresh death breath is sure to outlast Em Am This catastrophy, dance with me D Because if you've got the poison, I've got the remedy
Hey, oh oh.
Em C G When I fall in love I take my time D There's no need to hurry when I'm making up my mind Em C G D You can turn off the sun but I'm still gonna shine and I'll tell you why
(play G throughout) Because the remedy is the experience. This a dangerous liaison I say the comedy is that its serious. This is a strange enough new play on words I say the tragedy is how you're gonna spend The rest of your nights with the light on So shine the light on all of your friends Because it all amounts to nothing in the end.
G C D Em Bm C D I--- I wont worry my life away. Hey, oh oh. G C D Em Bm C D I--- I wont worry my life away. Hey, oh oh.
(Repeat chorus chords with similar lyrics, I won't, I won't, I won't, worry my life away, etc.)
