() you *no a+out N#P, then you *no that +ecause Neuro-#inguistic Programming
is a+out ,running your own brain, it leads to empoering people to ta*e charge o)
their on neuro-linguistic responses% N#P is also a+out modeling e-pertise% .rom
the +eginning N#P has introduced a great many models, patterns, and insights
a+out ho to Accelerate #earning and $rans)ormation% $oday, s*illed N#P
Practitioners can typically deal ith speci)ic pho+ic responses in /ust a matter o)
minutes% $hat0s the *ind o) ,magic, that the model o))ers%
What e ha"e disco"ered in &eta-States is that this *ind o) magic almost alays
occurs at meta-le"els% $he patterns and techni1ues may not re"eal that% $here may
+e nothing in the description to cue you into that% And they may snea* in the meta-
le"els "ia metaphors, +elie)s, decisions, etc%, yet the magic occurs +ecause e ha"e
changed the higher le"el .rame o) 2e)erence and it is at the structural meta-le"els
that the per"asi"e systemic changes occur% $hen the neuro-linguistic or neuro-
semantic System3 as a system3 can sel)-organi4e to ,ma*e real, 5real-i4e6 the
higher le"el or meta-)rame attractor%
.or us this e-plains hy the art o) +eing a+le to use the Levels of Mind model
5#e"els o) A+straction, #e"els o) #earning, &eta-States6 empoers the Practitioner
to *no hen to /ump logical le"els, ho to ma*e the meta-/ump and hat to
out)rame ith% When e do this ith a +asic N#P pattern li*e the ,Pho+ia 7ure,
pattern, this means that e are essentially layering le"el o) thought and emotion
upon le"el o) thought and emotion, )rame upon )rame, state em+edded inside o)
state to create a Neuro-Semantic System% When e do this, e do not rely /ust
upon one pattern or techni1ue3 e layer techni1ues and patterns so that the
trans)ormation +ecomes ine"ita+le%

$hat this represents a hypnotic process highlights the $rance-li*e nature o) meta-
stating% $o some e-tent this changes the predominant metaphor a+out trance in
N#P, although using the &eta-&odel, e ha"e alays spo*en a+out going up the
linguistic le"els to the higher a+stractions 5nominali4ations, presuppositions, cause-
e))ect statements, etc%6 as the most impact hypnotic language%

What does all this mean>
(t means that as e increasingly de"elop our models )or or*ing ith the structure
o) e-periences, e can increasingly accelerate our learnings and s*ills% Dr% !o+
!odenhamer +egan disco"ering this hen he +egan to sloly integrate &eta-States
into his regular N#P trainings% 'e +egan to )ind that participants ere pic*ing things
up 1uic*er%%% more thoroughly%%% and ith more s*ill% (t too* a hile )or hat this
meant to really sin* in3 +ut hen it did e trans)ormed !asic N#P Practitioner
$raining and pac*aged it as Meta-NLP%
Meta-NLP means that e ha"e em+edded our training o) the +asic N#P &odel
inside the higher )rame o) &eta-States and do it right )rom the +eginning% And ( can
tell you that this has in)uriated people around the glo+e% ( ha"e recei"ed many
angry emails )rom people ho say that ( cannot teach the N#P model in ? days%
$hey rite, ,(t can0t +e done%,
5Which alays seems li*e a strange parado- to come )rom a N#P Practitioner
or $rainer3 a)ter all e are the ones ho hear that )rom the traditional
psychological community, ,@ou can0t cure a pho+ia in one session%,6
&y response to this> (0d li*e to share it, especially since !o+ and ( ill +e doing the
? Day &eta-N#P Practitioner $rainer in Australia in &ay and in .lorida in Auly, 2001%

s*ills% And yet, e are not dependent upon the or*shop training )or that%
We can practice ith our )riends and )amily% @ou can practice in your
,pri"ate practice%, $hat0s hat ( did )or years as a psychologist% (0d practice
cali+rating to eye accessing cues ith my clients, then noticing predicates,
then noticing &eta-Programs% @es N#P inherently in"ol"es hands-on
practice3 the e-periential hands-on e-periences in the small practice groups

accelerated nature o) N#P +y Accessing Personal Benius% $here0s a reason
