Beta Delta flexes its Membership Muscle at the Area X Celebration As usual, Beta Delta showed in force 35 strong at the Area X Celebration! Way to go ladies! The celebration was filled with love, laughter, reflection, and celebration. The program, featuring Francesca Amari, showed off her talent for combining storytelling and singing. A truly moving experience. Xye Sanders was honored with an Area X Leadership Retreat Grant and Kathy OLeary was honored for 30 years of service to DKG! Julie Drysdale, Chi State 1 st Vice President, was on hand to honor and recognize all of the honorees. Linda Hosaka, Xye Sanders, Sandy Bell, and Sandi Hadder managed the silent auction with skill and finesse! The auction raised over $600! Sandi Hadder did an amazing job in creating our very festive basket. We got A LOT of compliments on its creativity! And, to top things off Dot Selvaggio won our basket, along with Pat Feist and Barbara Stryson winning other chapter baskets! Way to go sisters!

1 In 1929, a small group of teachers led by Laura E. Settle banded together. They wanted to fight for better pensions for colleagues living at the poverty level after a lifetime of teaching. This was happening at the same time our Delta Kappa Gamma Society International was being shaped by Annie Webb Blanton and eleven colleagues. We are blessed by the determination of these leaders. 2
You are invited to join CalRTA whether you are retired, close to retirement or light years away. Why?
1. The focused purpose is PROTECTING PENSIONS and HEALTH CARE.
2. The dues are reasonable.
3. The Contact Magazine is 3 informative for and applicable to all educators.
