Work Experience I took part in an Industry Day where I was sent to a work environment and I had the experience of the people who worked there. The other work experience I gained was through volunteering for the Feltham Arts Association through which I became the Young Volunteer of the Year in 2011. Doing the volunteering was a great work experience because I had to make resources for art classes in the area and I was involved in the planning and performance of the News Year Day Parade of 2012. I was a Christmas temporary sales assistant for River Island which was demanding environment as I had to constantly engage with customers and provide great customer service. Also, I have worked in a bowling alley and games centre as a party host and as a receptionist.
Personal Statement I would say that I have a clear, logical mindset with a practical approach to problem solving and a drive to see things through to completion. I have a great eye for detail. I am eager to learn and I enjoy overcoming challenges, this is why I thoroughly enjoy maths and I took part in the 'Jack Petchey Speak out Challenge' where I became the regional winner of 2012. I am an open-minded, friendly and resourceful person with a sound and optimistic outlook on all things in life. I possess an excellent ability to motivate others; coupled with the ability to communicate comfortably at all levels, therefore ensuring an excellent working environment for all members of the team to perform at their bests. I am an articulate, confident person who relishes in public speaking (confidently) and working under pressure. My greatest strengths are my research, communication and writing skills. I feel that I will be a worthwhile asset to any environment that I am put in.
Skills Communication When I took part in the national public competition (Speak out challenge) I spoke in front of 900 hundred people in London so I would say my communication skills are high because I am very able to communicate in any aspect and situation. Planning/Organising My planning and organisation skills are on a business level from taking part in the Enabling Enterprise project where I was the leader of the team for creating a business of our own. As the leader I had to make sure that the finances were well organised so the rest of the group could understand it. From working as a party host I had to organise and coordinate parties for children alongside parents and ensure that everything ran smoothly and make sure the parents were happy with the service provided. Teamwork While doing the Enabling Enterprise project I worked with a team of 5 people, which meant I had to collaboratively make decisions and come up with ideas. Working with other members of staff while employed enabled me to work accordingly in a team to achieve given tasks. Training I am proud to say that I teach street dance alongside my twin sister for the Allumini youth project. As a teacher I give my students training in different dance techniques and these techniques come together for a performance at the end of each term in a showcase. I have had previous training in stockrooms and at a reception. Hobbies I am an extremely creative person as I enjoy sketching, painting and various other forms of art. I have a great love for dance as I am a dance teacher and I also perform. Also in my spare time I go out with friends and have a good time, I try to do this as often as possible. Im a chilled and contented person, so I am always watching a film, reading 400 page books and listening to music.
