2 BUSINESS PLAN FOR 1T0: INTRODUCTION: The problem we described in D1 is that the average woman takes 16 minutes to choose their outfit a day (The Telegraph, 2009) and the average man takes 13 minutes to choose their outfit. (The Telegraph, 2011). This problem affects everyone worldwide; we dont know what to wear and how to wear our clothes in a timely and efficient way. This report will show a business model for our industry, the vision we want to portray as well as the key processes and business plans. BUSINESS SEC 3. 1 Vision: To create a global premier brand that is sustainable, essential and betters the lives of people all across the world and helping our customers with the way they look and dress so they are able to reach their full potential. 3. 2 Industry Analysis: Fashion application industry: Force: High/Low: Justification: Buyer power: High There are many other applications that have similar functions on the market (Indrik, 2010). Such as Stylebook, which only costs $3.99, this app organizes the photos you take of your clothes into categories. (Indrik, 2010). Or stylics, which allows users to categorize their clothes into colors. Another app is wishi, which allows users to upload pictures of clothes from your closet and share them on social media sites. (Morel, 14) Supplier power: Low Supplier power is low because there are lots of companies that provide the service needed to
3
3 make and create this app. For example, there are several weather forecast companies, like the NZ mett service (Mets Service, 2014), or accuweather in America (Advance Weather, 2014). We would therefore need to find one in each country so the users can choose where they live when setting up the app and get updates of the weather forecast days in advance. Other suppliers would include graphics designers, such as app that (AppThat, 2013), or software testers. These people can be found all over the world and is not a very specialized skill; therefore there are many supplier options for the company to choose from. Threat of new entrants: High Threat of new entrants is high due to the fact that there are not that many entry barriers to create an app, such as needing huge amounts of money. Therefore its fairly easy to enter the market. Given that there are already so many products like this on the market, this suggests that threat of new entrants is high. For example, there are already at least 25 top fashion apps with similar functionalities as ours. Such as pose, chicfeed, stylebook, fashism etc. (Freemake, 2012). Threat of substitutes: High There are lots of other substitute products such as consultant companies who offer personal wardrobe advice. Its on an individual basis in which they go to a customers house and sift through their wardrobe, they help create new
4
4 outfits out of the existing clothes the customer owns and gives them advice on things they should buy in the future based on their body shape and size etc. (Chasing Cait, 2014). Some shops have in store consultants that offer wardrobe-consulting advice. They take the person around the shop and allow them to try on clothes that they believe will cater to their body and make them look good (Ladies Fashion Consultant). TV shows and books such as Gok Wan or Trinny and Susannah, which show how to combine clothes you own and how to wear clothes that compliment your figure (The official Gok Wan website, 2013). Rivalry among existing competitors: High Rivalry among existing competitors is high due to the fact that there are many companies targeting a wide variety of people that all offer the same or similar service. Therefore there would be lots of competition to do with gaining a competitive edge and keeping up to date with new trends and technologies. The similar price ranges also points to an incredibly competitive industry. Overall attractiveness of the industry: Not a very desirable industry. There are lots of other products and services, competition and buyer power is very high.
5
5 3. 3 Customers and Their Needs: The customers be people who find what they wear an issue and who take pride in their appearance, the app would need to be able to organize their wardrobe into one place as well as allowing them to see what the outfit would look like on them. The solution must be easy to use as well as helping them save time and money (Sakshipost, 2014). 3. 4 The Product and Service: Our product fulfills customer needs as it has a weather app which allows users to see what the weather is for certain days in advance which can help them decide if they want to wear one or two layers. The app also lets them save concepts and outfits to wear later on as well as storing general items such as t-shirts, shorts etc. The user will take a photo of themselves to use as a template to drag the clothes onto, this way they can see what the outfit will look like on them. There is also a social media function in which a user can share their ideas with friends or family and get them to vote on the outfits they think are the best. This satisfies customer needs as it does all the things they need the app to do and it consolidates all the benefits of current apps into one application. 3. 5 Suppliers and Partners: Suppliers are graphic designers, developers and weather forecasting companies this is because they help provide software and technology to make the app and keep it updated. Partners are the Apple App store as well as Google as they promote and help assist with the purchase of the product. 3. 6 Strategy: The competitive scope is cost leadership, as we are not aiming to target any niche group, the issue of people not knowing what to wear and how to manage their clothes appeals to everyone. Our industry is competitive and there are many other similar products on the market, therefore we would have to provide a low cost service. 3. 7 Value Chain Activity: Developing the application: Manufacturing of the product or service is a key value chain activity as it is vital to ensure that the application meets the requirements of the target audience. It is also very
6
6 important to ensure that it is easy to learn, easy to use on a daily basis and that there are no bugs that may make it less attractive to use. This relates to the vision strategy because in order for our app to better the lives of our customers across to globe and help them reach their full potential it must meet the requirements of our customers and their needs.
7
7 3. 8 Business Processes: Customer service business process:
This business process involves the customer purchasing the app from the app store, then the app store interacting with the customers previously saved credit card
8
8 transaction details so that they can download the app. After this, the customer can receive updates for the app. DEVELOPMENT PROCESS:
9
9 This process involves developing the requirements and specifications of the application then working with a graphics designer to design the app. The next step is to develop the app itself, when satisfied that it does all the things it needs to, the next step is to test the application to make sure there are no problems that prevent it from working or make it hard for the customer to use. Then to market the app to get a customer base and make sure the brand is known. Lastly, load the app to the app store for customers to purchase. 3. 9 Functionalities: A main functionality for the customer service business process is: 1. To make software available for purchase. 2. Receiving updates on the software and application. Functionality for the development process is: 1. To store and share photos, provide a weather functionality and a social media sharing section. 2. Accessing credit card information
3. 10 Systems:
3.10.1. Customer enquiry process, this is anything that is wrong with the app and dealing with a problem the customer cannot fix. This makes sure the customer is happy with the purchase and function of the app to fulfill their needs. 3.10.2. Weather information system, this is a process that involves getting information from weather forecasting companies around the world to incorporate into the application so that customers can plan their outfits based on the temperature. 3.10.3. Sales channel process- Apple App store and Google. This involves the updating of software to the customers so that they can get extra benefits after the sale. This involves a sales channel with our company and the app store and Google to automatically update changes.

As well as the suppliers and partners, the strategy, a value chain activity and the business processes, its functionalities and the systems this relates to. The value of IT in this organization is crucial, almost every stage in this process requires collaboration with IT and would be near impossible to pitch and make the product without it.
