Charts ALT+F1 Create an embedded chart from the data in the current region. F11 Create a chart of the data in a Chart sheet. DOWN ARROW Select the previous class of elements in a chart. UP ARROW Select the next class of elements in a chart. RIGHT ARROW Select the next chart element. LEFT ARROW Select the previous chart element. Data Entry CTRL+SHIFT+: Enter the current time. CTRL+SHIFT+" Copy the value from the cell above the active cell. CTRL+; Enter the current date. CTRL+' Copy a formula from the cell above the active cell. CTRL+C Copy the current selection. CTRL+D Fill Down. CTRL+K Display the Insert or Edit Hyperlink dialog box. CTRL+R Fill Right. CTRL+V Paste the current Clipboard contents. CTRL+ALT+V Display the Paste Special dialog box. CTRL+X Cut the current selection. SHIFT+F11 Insert a new worksheet. ENTER Complete a cell entry and select the cell below. ALT+ENTER Start a new line in the cell. CTRL+ENTER Fill the current selection with the current data entry. SHIFT+ENTER Complete a cell entry and select the cell above. Editing CTRL+SHIFT+Plus (+) Display the Insert dialog box. CTRL+Minus (-) Display the Delete dialog box. CTRL+Y Repeat the last action. CTRL+Z Undo. ALT+SHIFT+F1 Insert a new worksheet. F2 Edit the active cell. SHIFT+F2 Add or Edit a cell comment. F4 Repeat the last action. F7 Display the Spelling dialog box. BACKSPACE Delete one character to the left in the Formula Bar. DELETE Clear the cell contents and keep the cell formats or comments. ESC Cancel an entry in the cell or Formula Bar.

Formulas CTRL+A Display the Function Arguments dialog box when to the right of a function name in a formula. CTRL+SHIFT+A Insert the argument names and parentheses when to the right of a function name in a formula. F3 Display the Paste Name dialog box. SHIFT+F3 Display the Insert Function dialog box. F4 Cycle through all the various combinations of absolute (dollar signs) and relative references in a formula. F9 Calculate all worksheets in all open workbooks. SHIFT+F9 Calculate the active worksheet. CTRL+ALT+F9 Calculate all worksheets in all open workbooks whether they need to recalculate or not. CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+F9 Recheck dependent formulas then calculate all cells in all open workbooks and including those cells not marked as needing to be calculated. Movement CTRL+G Display the Go To dialog box. F5 Display the Go To dialog box. ARROW KEYS Move one cell up, down, left, or right. CTRL+ARROW KEY Move to the edge of the current data region in a worksheet. END End mode on. Press END followed by an arrow key to move to the last cell in the row or column. CTRL+END Move to the last cell on a worksheet. HOME Move to the beginning of the row. CTRL+HOME Move to the start of the worksheet. PAGE DOWN Move one screen down. ALT+PAGE DOWN Move one screen to the right. CTRL+PAGE DOWN Move to the next worksheet tab i.e. to the right. PAGE UP Move one screen up. ALT+PAGE UP Moves one screen to the left. CTRL+PAGE UP Move to the previous worksheet tab i.e. to the left. TAB Move one cell to the right or move between unlocked cells in a protected worksheet. SHIFT+TAB Moves to the previous cell in a worksheet or the previous option in a dialog box. CTRL+TAB Switches to the next tab in a dialog box. Pivot Tables and Tables ALT+F5 Refresh the current Pivot Table. CTRL+ALT+F5 Refresh all Pivot Tables. CTRL+L Display the Create Table dialog box. CTRL+T Display the Create Table dialog box. ALT+SHIFT+RIGHT ARROW Group the selected items in a PivotTable field. ALT+SHIFT+LEFT ARROW Ungroup grouped items in a PivotTable field. Selection CTRL+SHIFT+* Select the current region, i.e. the data area enclosed by blank rows and columns. CTRL+A Press once, select current region. Press again to select worksheet. CTRL+SHIFT+O Select all cells that contain comments. F8 Turn extend mode on or off. Extended Selection appears in the status line and the arrow keys extend the selection. SHIFT+F8 Add a nonadjacent cell or range to a selection of cells by using the arrow keys. SHIFT+ARROW KEY Extend the selection of cells by one cell. CTRL+SHIFT+ARROW KEY Extend the selection to the last nonblank cell in the same column or row. LEFT ARROW or RIGHT ARROW Select the tab to the left or right when the ribbon is selected. Switch between the main menu and the submenu when a submenu is open or selected. DOWN ARROW or UP ARROW Move up or down through the tab group when a ribbon tab is selected. Select the next or previous command when a menu or submenu is open. END Selects the last command on the menu when a menu or submenu is visible. CTRL+SHIFT+END Extend the selection to the last used cell on the lower-right corner on the worksheet. In the formula bar, select all text in the formula bar from the current cursor position to the end. CTRL+SHIFT+HOME Extend the selection to the start of the worksheet. CTRL+SHIFT+PAGE DOWN Select the current and next sheet in a workbook. CTRL+SHIFT+PAGE UP Select the current and previous sheet in a workbook. SPACEBAR In a dialog box, perform the action for the selected button or check or uncheck a check box. CTRL+SPACEBAR Select the entire column. SHIFT+SPACEBAR Select the entire row. CTRL+SHIFT+SPACEBAR Select the entire worksheet. CTRL+SHIFT+SPACEBAR When a graphic is selected, select all graphics.

View CTRL+` Switch between displaying cell values and displaying formulas in the worksheet. CTRL+6 Switch between hiding and displaying objects. CTRL+8 Display or hide any outline symbols. CTRL+9 Hide the selected rows. CTRL+0 (zero) Hide the selected columns. CTRL+SHIFT+( Unhide hidden rows in the selection. CTRL+SHIFT+) Unhide hidden columns in the selection. CTRL+SHIFT+U Expand or collapse the formula bar. CTRL+W Close the selected workbook window. F1 Display the Excel Help task pane. CTRL+F1 Display or hide the ribbon. CTRL+F7 Perform the Move command on the workbook window if it is not maximized, then use the arrow keys to move the window. Press ENTER to finish or ESC to cancel. CTRL+F8 Perform the Size command if a workbook is not maximized. ALT+F8 Display the Macro dialog box. CTRL+F9 Minimize a workbook window to an icon. F10 Turn Ribbon key tips on or off. SHIFT+F10 Display the shortcut menu for the selection. ALT+SHIFT+F10 Display the menu or message for an Error Checking button. CTRL+F10 Maximize or restore the selected workbook window.
