This article is about how adolescent sexual behaviors different between demographics.
The article gives an inside look at the each group of races and income status in the United
States. The article also talks about the number of STIs, HIV, and unintended pregnancy
affects the growing number of adolescents in America. These numbers are not meant to
scare a teen but to inform them on the growing number of infections on there, if they are
not protected properly.

and teens understand the dangers of sexual behavior if not protected. This foundation purpose is
to help the community understand the many changes both teens and parents will face through the
years. This site helps teachers design lesson plans to build more excitement in the classroom.
Value: We chose this source for information because the facts and figures that was given in
percentages. This source is valuable to our current project because we will be looking at were
sexual behavior in youth is affected the most geographically. This will also help us find a better
solution to the problem the school may be facing. The site was easy to navigate through and
stayed up to date with facts and ideas. We could use this source for other topics in the future.

The story was reported in Denver, Colorado, at a middle school about the jelly sex
bracelet that had been rumored. The school took action and banned the students from
wearing the bracelets. Many students felt as those there rights have been taken away.
While the school is just trying to protect it students from inappropriate behavior both in
and out of school.

banning the bracelets. The article gives details about how the sex bracelets were being used
during and after school. The article focused on whether or not the school had the right to ban the
bracelets.
Value: The article was written for the New York Times reporting on a problem that has been at
the source of controversy with in secondary schools. This source could be used for other topis.
We can use this source to prove that sexual behavior of youth in secondary schools is increasing
in many new create ways. Our project we will focus on looking at the different ways students
engage in sex and the peer pressures that can with sexual behaviors.

Value: We chose this source to use for the facts and numbers given for the United States, as the
article also breaks down how different regions are affected. The article focuses on the dangers
and consequences of risky sexual activities of teenagers.

There are dramatic individual differences among adolescents in how and when they
become sexually active adults, and early sexual activity is frequently cited as a cause of
concern for scientists, policy-makers, and the general public. Understanding the causes
and developmental impact of adolescent sexual activity can be furthered by considering
genes as a source of individual differences.

In this article the author looks into two contradicating parties. A book was written to
expose these rainbow parties, for the purpose of awaring children and adults. The
author of the book claims there is no way someone could read this book and want to
have one of these parties. The arguing party was appalled claming that there is no reason
to even bring this issue to the mind of the studnets and youth. The argument is only a
portion of the article. The main issue of the article becomes how popular are these parties
exactly, how many people have heard of them in the end. The article brings up various
points from both view points and has a lot useful and usale information.

Current: This article was written and published in 2005
Credible: The article was written by a respected writer of the New York Times who still works
from them today. She has written over 1,000 articles and a majority of them have to do with
youth and college students. In this article she has quotes of many creditable people such as the
author of the book Rainbow Parties and also adolescent- health professionals.
Value: We are going to use this source to simply get an idea of how much people actually know
about what these parties are and what opinions people have to deal with these situations. Even
though rainbow parties are just a small aspect of my topic it is still a major point that we plan to
involve.
Johnson, T. C. (2001). Understanding the sexual behavior of children. The Child Care Worker,
Vol. 13 No. 6.
In this article the author covers a vast amount of information on youth sexuality in
general. This article touches on children engaged in natural and healthy childhood sexual
exploration to includes children who mutually engage in a full range of adult sexual
behaviors. It also covers the harsh reality of molestation from adults and other youth. The
author also goes on to compare what can be considered healthy and unhealthy sexual acts
by youth.

Credible: Toni C. Johnson has a Ph.D. and has spent most of her career focusing on child
sexuality cases. She has spent 31 years.in the field of child abuse as a clinician, researcher,
author and trainer.
Value: This article is very useful and may lead to other sources as well. Since this article covers
again a vast amount of issues within our topic it will not be hard to use it numerous times. Also,
so far she has been one of the most experienced and credible sources we can find, therefore, I
know that the sources she recommend also have a good chance on leading out in the right
direction. Mainly, we plan to use her information on what being able to differentiate between
what is acceptable and unacceptable sexual behaviors within the youth circle.
Schwarz, A. (2007). Comprehensive sex education: Why America's youth deserve the truth about
sex. Hamline Journal of Public Law & Policy, Volume 29 Number 1. 115-160.
The article discusses the rejection of comprehensive sex education program among
teenagers by the U.S. government. It says that the program teaches teens of the
importance of abstinence and effectively addresses the serious health concerns associated
with unsafe sex. It discusses the brief history of sex education in the country and further
discusses the abstinence-only and comprehensive sex models. It cites the political
tendencies concerning sex education and reproductive rights.

This article covers many issues regarding sexual experiences within youth from race, to
income rate, to location. The article looks at the impact on socioeconomic status of
adolescent and youth premarital sexual activity in details, such as first time of
intercourse, frequency, partner, and unprotected sex.

Credible: Eric P. Baumer has his Ph. D, M.A. and B.S. which makes him very credible. Also,
throughout his article he has many quotes, paraphrases and graphs, which all have outstanding
references from other doctors and other important people in the field. In fact the references
themselves take up about a page and a half form all different times and areas.
Value: This source helps us look at certain aspects that may go overlooked, such as poverty
levels, race, sex etc. This article brings also to the table many possible visual references in
regards to graphs and rates. This source should also bring interesting debates on what should be
done to solve particular issues.
