Rugged brackets with aesthetic design and the flexibility to address multiple situations and requirements.
Powerwave Antenna Brackets accom-
modate several models that are easy
to install and are ideal for stealth
installations:
Precise alignment of sector
boundaries, reducing sector
overlap and interference.
Use with any length antenna
Can be used with standard tilt
brackets included on antennas
Can mount with or without
mechanical tilt

Flexibility
The VersaFlex Enclosure has been
designed from the ground up as an
ultra light weight modular electronics
equipment enclosure. The design
allows flexibility in site selection and
construction. For installation flexibili-
ty, the VersaFlex can be delivered
as a turn-key integrated solution or
palletized as modular pieces to be
erected on-site.
The VersaFlex interior has been
designed for form, fit and function to
maximize space utilization. There
are 450 rack units (RU) of equip-
ment space that allow backward
compatibility with legacy equipment
and migration to future technologies.
This interior space also accommo-
dates operations technicians during
inclement weather.
Key Features/Benefits:
Revolutionary cabinet solution for
wireless carrier application
Utilizes about half the space of tradi-
tional shelters, resulting in major
lease savings and more site options
Weighs only 3,000 pounds vs.
30,000 50,000 for traditional shelters
Unique, internal sub-floor HVAC sys-
tem that eliminates hot spots, is qui-
eter and is more energy efficient
Knock down modular design to
accommodate site growth require-
ments as well as on-site assembly
Sliding door design reduces lease
area requirement by eliminating
door swing
Revolutionary sliding equipment
racks that reduce floor space
required (and hence lease space),
and utilizes a rolling cable tray
Unique cabinet access with NEMA-4
sliding/locking door which is water
and air tight, and helps control con-
densation
Space saving, low profile, vertically
mounted battery plant
Indoor rated equipment can be uti-
lized, which lowers cap-x costs for
operators
Optional stealth generator module is
low profile, low noise and integrated
into VersaFlex Enclosure architecture
High Density Equipment
The VersaFlex Enclosure has been designed
to maximize available rack space for revenue
generating equipment while minimizing overall
footprint. The VersaFlex will typically increase
equipment capacity by 50% within the same
footprint as traditional cabinets
for shelters.
With patents pending, the VersaFlex incorpo-
rates a sophisticated thermal management
system to accommodate heat output from
high density equipment.
The heart of the VersaFlex is a rolling carriage
system that allows high density storage while
facilitating full access to rack space. Also with
patents pending, the rolling carriage system
incorporates a cable track management system
for power, data and communication cables.

The OS-2 platform has a modular
architecture that provides operators
with complete uplink and downlink
enhancement solutions. The OS-2
combines two Powerwave high effi-
ciency Feed Forward (FF) Multi-carrier
Power Amplifier (MCPA) modules
making it a versatile capacity and cov-

design simplifies indoor, ground and
rooftop installations. The OS-2 multi-
ple interface capability provides opera-
tors with an evolutionary path from
GSM to EDGE including mixed-mode
capability. A fail-safe mechanism
enables base stations to continue
operation in case the OS-2 shuts
down. The OS-2 system is available
with an LNA uplink option or integrat-
ed 12VDC supply for TMA operation.
The latter configuration is referred to
as a TMA model.
The OS-2 eliminates the traditional
coverage/capacity trade-off in GSM
base stations. With an OS-2, the
base station can maintain its cover-
age radius (TX power) while increas-
ing the number of carriers on existing
antennas by amplifying all carriers
through one MCPA.

The Fiber Optic Repeater is a standard Powerwave Repeater of any type fitted with a Fiber Optic Unit.
Special Features
Long distance operation over single
mode fiber
Adjustable gain for link optimization
Combined fiber operation by using
WDM
Full remote control over fiber
Easy commissioning with Windows-
based terminal software
Alarm set-up and operation fully
compatible with OMO and OMS
software
The basic building block of the net-
work is the transceiver board called
Fiber Optic Node (FON). It is used
as a sub-assembly in the FOU
which can be installed in any
Powerwave repeater, or as a
stand-alone board in our Base
Station Master Unit (BMU).
The FON performs the conversa-
tions between RF signal and light
and vice versa. The FON also
includes a sub-carrier to be used
for data communication (fiber-to-
fiber) between different nodes in
the fiber optic network. This feature
enables the operator to have full
remote control of the fiber optic
repeater (or several) from only
one access point.
The distribution system is built up
by a master unit and one or sev-
eral fiber optic repeaters. The
system allows for the master unit
to be fed with a signal either
directly from the BTS or through
the air. The fiber optic repeater
can distribute the received signal
to the other co-located repeaters.
A single FON can provide optical
signal to a maximum of four other
FONs and the system is thus
often built in either star or chain
topology. Multiple nodes can be
used in a master unit to facilitate
large distribution systems. In
order to reduce the number of
fibers required by the system,
wavelength division multiplexing
can be utilized to allow the same
fiber to be used for both up and
downlink.
The Powerwave fiber optic distri-
bution system can be seamlessly
integrated into Powerwave single-
use or multi-use Operation and
Maintenance System (OMS),
which provides full access to all
repeaters.

Powerwave Wideband Coverage
System is a wideband multi-tech-
nology and multi-operator system
to be used where one or several
frequency bands are combined and
further distributed to a common
distribution network over fiber.
Typical applications are:
Airports
Covention centers
Subways
Public buildings
Shopping malls
Outdoor DAS
In these types of public environ-
ments several operators are offer-
ing coverage. Using centralized
Base Station hotels and distribute
to a common antenna system will
reduce the amount of hardware
installations and visual impact.
This is often a requirement from
facility owners, authorities etc.

Business Issue:
The Sea-Tac International Airport want-
ed a comprehensive indoor distributed
antenna system that would leverage
state-of-the-art technology to provide
airport operations, airline operations,
tenant and concessionaire operations,
and more than 29,000,000 airport trav-
elers who pass through the airport each
year with seamless wireless coverage
throughout the airport premises.
Powerwave Solution:
An indoor DAS that provides seamless
wireless phone and data service
throughout the airport and up to a
radius of 250 feet around the airport.

serving the area and technologies
including cellular and PCS. Supports
Wi-Fi technology by enabling transmis-
sion of the Wi-Fi signal through its coax-
ial backbone and service antennas.

The powerful network management solution. NetWay Manager is an SNMP based
management system designed to centrally
monitor and manage critical network inter-
connected devices such as Powerwave
repeaters, microwave radio links and
antenna line devices. It is available in an
Enterprise edition for small-to-medium
networks and in a Telecom edition for
medium-to-large networks offering:
Network status in real time
Synchronization of software and
other critical parameters through
the complete network
Based on open standards
Easy integration with third-party
SNMP-based elements
User friendly interfaces
Scalability and upgradeability
Reliable operation proven in field
In NetWay Manager you set up your
network management in a Client-server
configuration enabling distributed man-
agement. To the server a database can
be attached for storing fault, perform-
ance and inventory data. The database
can be available to higher order man-
agement systems. An FTP-server for
downloading new software into the ter-
minals can be connected as well as an
(S)NTP server.
SD, NDC, NC and CB are value adding
NetTools. Included in the telecom addi-
tion, options in the Enterprise edition.
