1. Explain which field trip you are most excited about.

I am most excited about the Clark County History Museum, because I remember going there when I was younger. The houses, the ghost town, the train, the Piaute village, and all of the old antiques really made Nevadas history come alive for me, and I am excited to share this with students. I remember when I visited the museum; I felt a sense of pride in Nevada. I wanted to learn even more about it. I couldnt believe all of the history I didnt know about. I think taking my students to the Clark County History Museum will have a similar effect on them. Or at least I hope it does.

2. What challenges did you run into during this assignment?

The greatest challenge I had in doing this assignment was finding a virtual tour for economics that was suitable for K-2 students. It was difficult to find economic virtual tours in general, but even more difficult to find a tour that matched the standards for the lower grades. I thought of doing grocery store tours where the students could explore the different departments, checking prices of items and even putting them into a cart, but I felt the students might be too young to do this on their own. I finally decided that I needed to keep it more basic, about money and why we use it. I felt everything else went pretty smooth. I saved the virtual fieldtrips for last, because I felt there was more wiggle room with them, since we could essentially go anywhere. I feel the fieldtrips I found are good ones that will be educational and interest the students. I am actually excited about all of them.
