Dear Customer, Please note that during the last few months we have received several requests for the replacement, under warranty, of the voltage regulator part number 486062 (relative to vehicles with a 125 c.c. 4-stoke 4v engine) because it does not charge the battery correctly. After having received and analysed the above-mentioned regulators, we have determined that they work properly. The right charge data are listed as follows: Criterion to check Regulator output voltage Value 13.8 to 15V at 6,000 rpm from 0.3 to 0.6 Where to check Red and yellow / green cable Between the yellow cables Between the yellow cable and ground

If charging problems persist even after having checked that the charge data are correct, you will find below the parts of the vehicle to be inspected in order to identify the possible cause of failure:

Criterion to check Battery charge state Current drain when vehicle is off

Value according to graph (1) < 1 mA

Where to check Between battery terminals Insert a milliampere meter between the system ground cable and the battery negative terminal

Moreover, please remember how important it is to charge the battery correctly when it is new or when it needs recharging (as a general rule a charge has to be applied equal to 1/10th of the battery's capacity. To comply with this it is essential to use a charger that is ideal for battery capacity). An incorrect charge will alter the service life of the battery. Please find enclosed, for your information, an indicative graph featuring the standard charging values:

Finally we inform you that we are auditing (Authority) any new request under warranty received for this regulator. Therefore, for any additional requests you might be sending us in the future you will have to specify the charging values measured on the vehicle.
