Section A: Directed Writing

[35 marks]

Recently, you had attended a motivational course on how to study for an examination. It was
organized by the Counseling Club of your school. As the secretary of the club, you have been
asked to write a report on the course held.

Include the following points:

 prepare - timetable
 identify weak subjects
 make notes
 review – memorise - notes
 form - study group
 discuss - difficult topics
 suitable place to study
 stay away from television
 reward yourself
 keep healthy
 get help – teachers - friends
 work hard
 be consistent

When writing the report, you should remember:

- to give a title
- that your readers are mainly students
- to include all the points given
- to add two other points of your own
- to write in paragraphs

Section B: Continuous Writing

[50 marks]

You are advised to spend one hour on this section.

Question 2

Write a composition of about 350 words on one of the following topics.

(a) Describe a local legend that inspires you.

(b) Ways to promote cleaner public toilets.

(c) The legal age to get a driving license should be twenty years old . Do you agree?

(d) Write a story entitled “The Most Unexpected Visitor.”

(e) Money.
