Overview:
Bangladesh Bank is a central bank, reserve bank, or monetary authority is a banking institution granted the exclusive privilege to lend a government its currency. Like a normal commercial bank, a central bank charges interest on the loans made to borrowers, primarily the government of whichever country the bank exists for, and to other commercial banks, typically as a 'lender of last resort'. However, a central bank is distinguished from a normal commercial bank because it has the monopoly on creating the currency of a nation, which is loaned to the government in the form of legal tender. It is a bank that can lend money to other banks in times of need. Its primary function is to provide the nation's Money Supply, but more active duties include controlling subsidized-Loan Interest Rates, and acting as a lender of last resort to the Banking Sector during times of financial crisis (private banks often being integral to the national financial system). It may also have supervisory powers, to ensure that banks and other financial institutions do not behave recklessly or fraudulently.
Gender:
There is no difference in male and female in this Organization. There is equal opportunity and facilities to the employee either male or female. Their promotion and wages is given based on their performance.
Absenteeism:
Female employees has high absenteeism rate than male members. The absenteeism rate between young and old employee; old employees are more absent.
Job satisfaction:
In this organization more than 80% employees are satisfied with their job. To satisfy employees or make them free to work they provide incentives, late sitting, and self recreation leave when it is urgent etc.
Job dissatisfaction:
There are some employees who are dissatisfied with their job. Most of them respond in that situation by raising their voice, sitting on a meeting. A very rare percent of people remain calm and try to cope up with their situation and improve their position. Employees are not dissatisfied with their salary. The amount of salary is perfect based on employees position. The employees are dissatisfied based on other issues like transfer to another district, posting on other department, internal politics etc.
Diversity management:
This organization prefers diversity management. Because in this management people come from different sectors, so the employees who are weak in work they can improve themselves by working with them.
Ethics:
In Bangladesh Bank, every aspect is considered ethically. When any critical situation comes they handle it from their ethical point of view.
Openness:
The organization encourages openness. An openness person changes the organizations position in the critical situation.
Core-self evaluation:
The employees always tries to rectify their employs performance by evaluation and here, core-self evaluations have huge affect on this performance.
Personality-job fit:
The organization believes that those people are fit with their job, they are more satisfied with their job and their performance is good. Thats why when they are recruiting employees. They always try to give them right position within their personality to getting the better performance.
Important task:
There are no differences; they can do their any important task by female and male employs. It doesnt have any effect on their performance either they will be male or female; it depends on reliability
Attribution Theory:
If an employee late regularly in his/her work period, our authority take several actions. Firstly, they give oral warning. Secondly, ask for explanation, and thirdly, they bring to book that employee. Because if they do not take any kind of action, then that employee will do this work regularly.
Contrast Effect:
Bangladesh Bank maintains a standard .Because every employee has a goal to achieve from that we can judge them.
Stereotyping:
When a candidate is recruiting for a post, we do not only judge the knowledge to which he/she belong .It is enough for us if the candidate knew the basic things.
Reward Systems:
If any employee do any kind of good work for the organization, this organization gives reward to that employees .Because its encourage & motivate them .
Justice:
If the organization get any kind of profit from any project or something, we give equal distribution of benefits & costs to their employees.
Flexi-time:
Bangladesh Bank gives their employee to take chance of flexi-time. It reduces absenteeism & tiredness of an employee. We can get more productivity from that employee.
Job Rotation:
This organization shifts their employees from one task to another task. From this employees will be more flexible, it also reduces their boredom.
Telecommunicating:
Bangladesh Bank has the telecommunicating facilities. From this we can capture a larger labor pool in a short time.
Employee Involvement:
Bangladesh Bank encourages their employees to involve in decision making. We maintain consultative direction system in decision making.
Dividing Group:
When the authority of Bangladesh Bank wants to divide their employee into groups they always emphasis on the ability and performance of the employee. They do not discriminate at the time of dividing the group. Leaders are formed by the authority of the bank.
Reward system:
To encourage team work and individual work the organization follow some reward system according to best performance. For this reason people in a group work hard and try to give best through work. Higher authority sometime gives early promotions if anyone performs well.
Formal power:
The bosses have the formal power to reward or take any action against any employee. If they want to do they have that authority to do. They can do any favor for their employees like promotions, rewards etc. They also impose their power tactics on their employees.
Organizational politics:
In Bangladesh Bank there are some internal political parties which are run by the bank employees only. Most of the time is affects positively for the betterment of the official environment. But sometimes it can be alarming for other employees depending on situations and conditions.
Conflict Situation:
On case of any conflict situation the GM handle through some steps like1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Analyze the problem Consult with the victims Negotiate with them Take decisions to compromise Come to a mutual argument
Negotiation:
To maintain the friendly environment and clear all the confusions and misunderstandings among the employees negotiation is the best way from GMs point of view.
Recommendation:
1. The organization should more attentive to the political issues to control. 2. Employees should less their absenteeism and turnover rate to achieve the reliability. 3. Females should do their best at their job.
