1. In my opinion the listed question is appropriate about extra-curricular activities in which a person is involved.

It doesnt matter if he belongs to any association or not. As listed under Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom it clearly defines that every person has Freedom of Association and can be associated with any organisation of his/her choice. However this may not affect the selection process.

2. This question seems to be appropriate as this will help the employer to know the efficiency and effectiveness of the candidate so that they can judge if the candidate is able to work for time bound task. This is nowhere going against Employment Legislation so this can definitely be a part of interview question.

3. Appropriate to ask the question about his/her last job. It is important to know the reason behind the candidate leaving his/her job. But ultimately it is the candidate decision on leaving his position as stated under Freedom to Seek Employment anywhere anytime he wished. According to Human legislation Rights of Canada he/she can seek employment anywhere in Canada.

4. It can be appropriate to know what their future plans are and how they keep upgrading themselves for the future. Rest it is the choice of the candidate to take education or not. Relating this to The Ontario Human Right Code every individual has right to take up education irrespective of age or any other discrimination.

5. Question is appropriate to be asked as somehow it is related to employment. Children play more importance in the life of parents. No matter it is the look out of the candidate but employer must be concerned or make sure that the employee is not disturb at work due to any personal reason. As this may affect his/her productivity.

6. According to the Canadian Human Right Act prohibits discrimination against a convicted person if a pardon has been issued for the offence. Keeping in mind the above statement it is appropriate to enquire about this question as it is essential to know about candidate criminal record. But as far as selection procedure is concerned we cannot discriminate on the bases of criminal record.

7. To me the question looks appropriate as this can help the employer to know what level of knowledge and decision making skill he possesses as that will ultimately help the employer to look for right position for the candidate even thought this question is a part of questionnaire the employer is not violating any of the employment legislations.

8. As far as its concerned with hiring a candidate for a job its not important to know from where his/her last name originated because that may create a sense of discrimination in the mind of the candidate which directly or indirectly effects the employer and employee relationship, therefore in my point of view keeping in mind the legislation rule as well I found the question inappropriate.

9. Appropriate, as education is somewhere an essential part of human life and it is also equally important to know in terms of employment. The employer can ask the question of higher education to know the time he completed it and he also has right to ask about other educational qualifications and is nowhere against the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom. 10. Considering the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom, the freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, the employer can pose this question to the candidate so that the candidate can express or share his concerns or clear his doubts which regards to the position which he is applying for.

CONCLUSION: every individual is equal before the law and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and benefit of the law without discrimination and, in particular, without discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age, or mental or physical disability.
