Within this guide you can nd out how much you can expect to spend while you are studying on living costs and course fees and the nancial support available from the University and the Government to assist you with these. Information about course fees and nancial support has been split into Pre-degree and Undergraduate, to reect the different levels of study we offer.
Please note all information included is correct at the time of writing but is subject to change.
Living costs Altogether, you can expect to pay anywhere between 5,000 and 8,000 each year, dependent on your location, personal circumstances and how much you plan on going out.

room accommodation is likely to be between 370 and 535 per month, depending on the campus and the type of accommodation you choose. But youll only pay for 10 months per year. In privately-rented accommodation, rents are around 300400 per month and contracts may be for a 12-month period.
Transport Transport costs will vary depending on how far you have
to travel and whether youre using public transport. If you have a car, youll need to factor in things like insurance, road tax, servicing and MOTs, as well as the price of petrol.
Trips Dont forget to budget for occasional trips that are important
to your studies.

Childcare Grant
This grant could help with the cost of your childcare costs during term time and holidays. If youre eligible, the amount you may get will depend on your household income, the cost of your childcare and the number of children you have. You can apply for the Childcare grant when you apply for student nance.
The institutional services aspects of these bursaries are particularly useful as they cover a range different UCA services including: University accommodation Support with eld trips costs Laptop purchase scheme Catering vouchers
*The NSP scholarships, UCA bursaries and the Internal Progression Bursary are only available to students starting their rst BA (Hons) degree course or two year foundation degree in September 2014. There may also be Creative Scholarships for both new and continuing undergraduate degree students.
Other important information The maximum number of National Scholarship Programmes awarded at UCA will be 480. If you receive an NSP award you may also receive a UCA Bursary on top of this. If you are progressing internally from an FE to a BA course you may also receive an Internal Progression Bursary Loyalty Top-up.
UCA Bursaries
For students starting a degree course or continuing onto the second year of a degree course we have cash bursaries of up to 900 available to those with an annual household income of up to 40,000. These can be used for anything you wish and do not have to be paid back.

Value of Bursary
You will receive a UCA Bursary for each year of your undergraduate studies at UCA, provided you full the eligibility criteria.
Other important information This process will be the same for each year of your undergraduate studies. Receipt of a UCA Bursary will be dependant on your declared annual household income being 40,000 or less in your application to Student Finance England support for that academic year.
Creative Scholarships
Each year UCA offers a number of Creative Scholarships, which are designed to support students in a variety of disciplines and are allocated on merit. A UCA Committee sits to review applications and makes the awards.
