Project Overview
Objective

of

EXAMINATION

AND

HIRING

SYSTEM is to help the company TAU Infotech to

achieve the recruitment of manpower for domestic


uses. The existing process is completely manual. Now
the company needs it to be computerized. Though
100% of the processes would not be computerized yet
a few of them could be automated . Essentially data
collection and storage of the aspirants, admit card
generation, compiling results and generating the
statistics based on the marks obtained in the written
examination, and finally calling the candidates for
interview.
TAU Infotech is in constant need of computer
professional at various levels. The recruitment cell of
the organization advertises for vacancies in various
newspapers and asks applicants to submit applications
in a prescribed format. Applications are scrutinized
manually against the set criteria and a list of eligible
candidates is prepared. Eligible candidates are called

to take up the written examination at a fixed venue


conducted by the examination department.

Marks

obtained in three subjects are compiled in a given


format, then from the compiled result a statement is
generated which helps the management in preparing a
list of selected candidates called for interview.
Thus, the proposed software system has to coordinate
the management, the recruitment cell and the
examination department.

Problem Definition
The existing system is manual and cumbersome, does
not meet the need. The company is in constant need of
computer professionals. Company has a policy for
recruitment. It advertises un newspapers and calls
applicants to apply for various level professionals.
Scrutinizing thousands of applications manually and
making list of eligible candidates is itself a lengthy

process. Further allotting a unique roll number to all


the applicants, admit card generation, conducting
written examination for various levels, compiling
result and based on the result, preparing list of selected
candidates for interview, preparing interview board
panel etc involves huge time and man hour.
Performance of this recruitment process is very low.
Oftenly, recruitment is delayed, which affects the
running projects in the company causing

future enhancement too, so that the applicants can

process them for eligibility, online testing and online
result publishing.
