Design Brief

By john & Daniel Directors commentary I choose the song Monster by Eminem and Rihanna because since the first time I heard it I wanted to keep listening to it over and over again. Not only is it a really good song, but it has a meaning to it that I think many people can relate too. The song went viral on YouTube and a lot of people have heard the song, however no music video has been created for it. So our group will make a music video for it that is going to fit in with the text of the song, being a monster under the bed. I got inspired to make the music video for the song because of the lyrics. I believe that we can make an emotional video with this song, but still keep the kind of rap image Eminem has when he is on screen. When I hear Rihanna singing in the song I think of something sad but when Eminem starts singing it kind of feels like he is finding a solution to the sadness. In our video we are going to have Ethan being Eminem, and a female character to be Rihanna. I have always liked Eminem and Rihanna, to see them collaborate is nice, and they have produced a really good song. That inspired me to make a video for that song.

In this unit we were learning about the music video, now we were being asked to create a music video. The song we choose is The monster by Eminem ft.Rihanna, and the music video will be based on this song. Then we chose the different jobs for each person, Daniel Jepsen is director who is in charge in this group; Carlo Arboit is the script writer who will be write about the setting, the actors of the video; Ethan Sims is the editor who will edit the video; John Chan is the camera man who will film the video. The monster produced by Bryan Fryzel who known as Frequency. The singer Rexha stated that she "was in a really dark place, a dark head space. Figuring out where you are in life and trying to make shit work for yourself it gets to you. You get super down on yourself. I was just trying to get out of a depressed phase." That are the reasons that why she wrote this song "The monster", at the same time, during the time she wrote this song, she knew that Eminem will be one of the singer that perform it. She had stated more that she inspired from the quote "about the monsters that are around us and that live inside of us".

Eminem (Marshall Bruce Mathers III), is a USA rapper, music producer and actor. He rapper and producer Dr. Dre excavation was in 1997, subsequently signed to the record company Aftermath. Rihanna from the Caribbean island of Barbados is the European music pop singer, actor and fashion actress, known in many countries in the world famous. Global sales of one of the singers is the highest since twenty-first Century, with 12 singles champion in Billboard Hot 100 on the list, Billboard is 52 years history dominates the fastest the scores of personal singer, is also named the Billboard's 2010's best artist. On November 6, 2013,"The Monster" is at number 3 of Billboard Hot 100 which is the first untried. This award also won the singer the honor of being the fastest women to accumulate the top ten tally. At the same time, the song with sales of 373,000 earned number 1 on the US Digital Songs chart. Furthermore, the song "The Monster" first entries the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart which is the number 1 on the chart of Eminems, and Rihanna's third.

"Love the Way You Lie" is the first official collaboration of Eminem and Rihanna in 2010. The song had achieved the success both critical and commercial. At the same time, it was topped the Us Billboard Hot 100 chart seven weeks in a row which at the same year, it were sold out 854, 000 copies in UK, this made "Love the Way You Lie" became the best and biggest selling song in UK.
