    i) GAMBARAJAH :

    : 1. Bring the water in the water bath up to the boiling point and turn
    down the source of heat.
    2. Add 2 ml of Benedicts reagent to approximately 2 ml of glucose in
    Test tube A and mix the reagent thoroughly.
    3. Add 2 ml of Benedicts reagent to 2ml of maltose in test tube B.
    4. Place both test tubes in the water bath and leave for five minutes.

    dilute hydrochloric acid(HCI),sodium hydrogen carbonate
    (NaHCO3)pH paper,distilled water.

    : 1. Carry out the Benedicts test for sucrose.


    2. Add 1 ml of HCI to a fresh sample of 2ml of sucrose. Mix the solution
    And boil for 2-3 minutes.
    3. Add NaHC3 solution until the solution is neutral or preferably
    Slightly.
    4. Pour 2 ml of Benedicts solution and boil.
