Props/Costumes We want to dress our actors like a stereotypical teenagers would dress we want to do this to create a connection between our target audience and our characters. Near the end when the main character is possessed she dresses in black and wears dark makeup, we chose this as the connotations of black represent things such as death so pragmatically imply that she is close to death. We chose a book at the main prop as it is a realistic prop to find and makes the audience feel a sense of reality. Cinematography/Lighting the lighting of most of the shots in the trailer are light and daytime. This goes against the conventions of horrors but again creates a sense of reality. The lighting in scenes then becomes darker when Amy becomes possessed. Use of Sound: We chose a horror tune to play over the trailer. This follows common horror trailers and creates tension and suspense. Editing and Effects: We plan to use adobe audition pro editor when we have shot all of our footage to make our trailer look professional. We will cut out certain parts of footage we do not need and join different shots together. We will use transition effects when changing from one scene to another. Title Screens/Typography Our text based on a true story fits in with the horror theme we chose. The font was found on the internet and is a scary font. The font is white as it contrasts the black background and stands out. Target Audience/Uses and Gratifications/Points of Identification: Our target audience is 15+ as our film certificate is a 15. We did research into which type of horror movies our desired target audience like and with the feedback, we decided to go for supernatural; as it was a popular choice amongst our peers. After completing our research we have decided on a target age range due to the feedback we received.
