Some particles are large or dark enough to be seen as soot or smoke. If they so small it can be detected only trough electron microscope. Particulates Originate from a variety of mobile and stationary sources (diesel trucks, wood stoves, power plants, etc.), their chemical and physical compositions are very wide. (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 2012) Consideration of different size is suspended particulate matter (SPM) has usually two peaks of the chemical group, the borderline of those two peaks separated by the size of around 2 There are two type size of SPM which are coarse particle for particle bigger than 2 .
sizes
and less than that is called as fine particles. For this experiment, it is conducted at Environmental Lab. Objectives There are certain objectives aimed from this experiment which are: 1) To know appropriate design for lower volume air sampler. 2) To know the measurement for PM 2.5 using LV 20p. 3) To know sensitivity of the sampler by determining the way not contaminated it. Methodology In this experiment, the method approach is by using LV 20P which is a model to measure the concentration of dust in the air. This air sampler consists of a suction pump, a flow meter, a tripod, etc. The devices and instruments can be unified into one body by putting the suction pump and flow meter in the suction pump part and the parts necessary for sampling such as the particle size separator, tripod, and sampling hose, etc. It is easy installation at a working site. Result and Discussion After several time (not achieve 24 hours), the filter paper of LV- 20P from white change to light grey indicates that there are pollutant in the

atmospheric respective area. Because of unpredicted weather in Jeli such as heavy raining, to some extent it give error to the readings. As this experiment is only for demonstration on
collecting sample of air sampler, the result cannot be relied. The appropriate way to get accurate readings is take the air sampler reading within 24 hours and also considered several external factors such as weather, region place activity and etc. High volume air samplers are not suitable for measuring PM2.5 so have to adopted method approved by US EPA, using much smaller filters and very much lower airflows. The principles are same except that the vacuum cleaner is much smaller and more modern. Only very small masses of particles are collected on the smaller filters, so a special, very sensitive balance is used, that can weigh things as small as 0.1 micrograms. That is one tenmillionth of a gram, which is a very tiny amount. To do this, the balance and the filters are kept in a special room that has an air conditioner that controls both the temperature and the amount of moisture in the air. Conclusion High volume are samplers are sampler typically sample more than 1500 cubic metres (m3) of air over a 24-hour period, while low volume air samplers draw through only 24m3 of air, or less.
