Chromate-Free Coated Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel Sheet JC

1) JFE Steel Corporation developed a chromate-free coating called JC for hot-dip galvanized steel sheets that provides excellent corrosion resistance and weldability. 2) In salt spray tests, steel coated with JC showed no corrosion after 72 hours, which was equivalent to steel coated with conventional chromate coating. 3) JC coating maintains the same electrode life as chromate coating during spot welding but requires adjustment of welding current levels.
