Course Outline

This course outline establishes the concepts of using computing techniques to alter signal properties for desired effects. It will cover topics such as signal representation, time and frequency domain analysis, discrete signal transforms, digital system properties, filter design including FIR and IIR filters, and advanced DSP topics such as multidimensional signal processing and speech processing. Students will be evaluated based on assignments, a midterm exam, and a final exam, with assignments being 20% of the grade, the midterm 30%, and the final 50%. The course will be taught on Mondays from 7:30-9:00pm and Wednesdays from 6:00-7:30pm.
