#f the installation does not run automatically, browse the ": using *indows 3<plorer and double7click on the =S3T$,!3+3= file in the ":>s root directory! This will cause the installation program to begin running! Follow the on7screen prompts to install the driver for your supported printer ?listed above@! #f you have previously installed an earlier version of /ebra "ard ,rinter i Series software, it is strongly recommended that you first uninstall the earlier version before installing this new version! To $-#-ST(AA previous versions of the /ebra "ard ,rinter i Series software, insert and run the /ebra install ": ?see above@ and select the 63B4%3 :6#%36S option from the menu that appears! (lternatively, select ST(6T 78 S3TT#-9S 78 "4-T64A ,(-3A, choose the (::C63B4%3 D(6:*(63 option and select the /316( "(6: ,6#-T36 software from the list that appears! 4nce the previous version of drivers is uninstalled you may proceed with the installation of the new version of our driver! $ninstallation of the drivers is re5uired if a previous version has been installed! 1ack to Table of "ontents

1. #n situations where communication is lost between the printer and the host ,", please power cycle the
printer to regain communication and continue printing! #n some rare cases, you may need to power cycle the host ," as well!
2. The $S1 model of a printer reaching an out of card condition that is not cleared for more than 1
minutes, will e<hibit the following behavior) 4n *indows 2000 and +,, the ne<t card printed will print the yellow and magenta panel, and then pause for appro<imately I0 seconds before completing the print Job successfully! The ne<t cards will print normally!
3. #f parallel or $S1 i Series drivers are installed on the host ,", you cannot modify the installation to add
3thernet communication! Kou must uninstall the driver and re7install the driver using the instructions below!

4. #nstalling the driver for parallel, $S1 and 3thernet communication is possible through custom
configuration only! The driver installation will not work if an e<isting installation port is re7directed to a T",C#, port! To install the driver for all three communication ports) *hen installing the drivers, select #nstall $S1 and ,arallel Select "ustom setup Select -e<t to keep the default parameters Select #nstall network printer components Select :efault ribbon type 3nter the #, address for the printerL up to three addresses can be added Select -e<t to keep the default parameters Finish and restart the computer (ttach the 3thernet, parallel andCor $S1 printers to the host computer
5. 4n 3thernet printers, bi7directional communication is not supported! Therefore, the printer will not report
ribbon info or error messages!
6. 4n 3thernet printers, deleting a magnetic encoding print Job will allow the card to remain near the
magnetic encoding head for up to . seconds before sending the card to the reJect bin or out the printer!
7. 4n 3thernet printers, deleting a print Job will delete the first card from the ne<t print Job! 8. The parallel port model of a printer installed on a system running any version of *indows may -4T
display an on7screen error message if it receives invalid data for encoding! The printer button will flash red to indicate the error and the printer will need to be power7cycled to clear the error condition!

10. Bagnetic encoder capable printers installed on a system running any version of *indows may
encounter a problem when attempting to encode and print a magnetic strip card! The printer does not individually encode the second track on the 2nd and 2rd card and instead will encode and read the second track the same as it does on for the 1st card! This is related to the data that is being encoded and not with the mode of the card! To prevent errors of this nature, be sure to enter valid data ?i!e!, numeric values 4-AK@ in the field for the second track of the card!
11. 4n dual sided printers, sending multiple copies of a print Job with an odd number of pages will result in
the first page printed on the back of the last card and the remaining pages printed on the wrong side of the card!
12. *hen printing on cards 07&0 mil thick, the + offset value must be changed to & to avoid cutting the
ribbon!
13. *hen using a card application program and the image 5uality is set to any value other than 200 dpi, you
may e<perience une<pected results!
14. #n order to print barcodes in some applications, change the 1lack ,anel option to E$se (lwaysF, the
default setting! The 1lack ,anel option can be found under the ,rinter ,roperties, in the ,rinting ,references page!
15. Firmware verification has been implemented to keep the wrong firmware from being accidentally loaded
into the printer! 4nce this version of firmware ?1!0. for ,20 C,210i and 2!2. for ,210iC,220iC,.20iC, 20i@ is loaded into the printer, older versions may not be installed! ,age 2 of 0
16. ,ass7through commands issued through Bicrosoft *ord may give command errors! 17. ,20 and ,210i printers with serial communication cannot use this driver! #n this situation, one must
use direct commands to control the printer! "ontact technical support for assistance in this protocol!
18. *hen multiple printers are connected to one client computer, changes in the driver properties for one

1. 4n systems running the *indows I; operating system, if you uninstall and then re7install the $S1
printer the operating system will recogniMe the $S1 port but -4T the printer! (void this by re7installing using ST(6T 78 S3TT#-9S 78 ,6#-T36S 78 (:: ,6#-T36 to install the printer! #f a problems communicating with the printer persist after re7installation change the ports assigned to the printer via the printer>s properties appletL access this by ST(6T 78 S3TT#-9S 78 ,6#-T36S, right clicking on the printer icon and selecting ,64,36T#3S! -ote that it may take more than one attempt to find the correct $S1 port driver value!
2. #n *indows I; when installing more than one printer, if the installation does not complete successfully,
reboot the computer to complete the install!
3. *hen attempting to print the *indows I; printer test page, you may e<perience une<pected results! To
check printer functionality, print a test card within the driver! 4pen the ,rinters folder in the "ontrol ,anel! Select the appropriate driver and open the ,roperties page! Select :evice Settings tab! Select Tools, and then select the ,roperties button! $nder the ,rint Test "ard bo<, select the ,rint button!

To clear the partially printed card, the printer can be power cycled or an 3Ject "ard command may be issued through the driver! (fter the ribbon has been re7synchroniMed and the card cleared, the printer will print normally! The Job deleted must be re7submitted!
