The Advanced Forensic Format (AFF) is an open source and extensible file format for storing digital forensic data. It allows arbitrary metadata and data types to be stored, and uses compression to reduce image sizes. AFF images can be read and integrated into forensic tools using the AFFLIB library. The format supports features like bad sector annotation and is designed to standardize storage of disk images and other forensic evidence.
