Flat Slab Design Example

This document provides the design details for the flat slab of a women's and children's hospital in Kuala Lumpur. It includes the design loads, moment calculations, reinforcement details for the column and middle strips, and deflection and shear checks. The slab is 200mm thick with rebar sizes of 16mm. Reinforcement is designed to resist bending moments at supports of up to 675.7kNm and at spans of up to 890.2kNm. Deflection checks fail requirements while punching and shear checks are satisfactory.
