delegates
wonderful powers to His distinguished servants by virtue of which
wonderful happenings take place that are inexplicable and beyond
the comprehension of human beings. Sometimes having been the
victim of satanic whispers, some nave people start analysing marvels
(Karma) through their limited common sense and insight and this
is how they go astray.
Remember! A Karma is such a supernatural manifestation which
human intellect cannot comprehend i.e. which cannot be executed
by physical means.
On page 58 of Bar-e-Sharat [a 1250-page publication of
Maktaba-tul-Madna, a publishing department of Dawat-e-Islami],
Allma Mauln Muft Muhammad Amjad Al Aam

has stated: Ir is the manifestation of such thing by a Prophet
before [the declaration of] his Prophethood; and if it is manifested
after the declaration of Prophethood, then it is called Mujiza
(miracle). If a similar wonder is manifested by a Wal, then it is

called Karma. It is called Manat if exhibited by a Mmin (true
believer). If such a supernatural manifestation is exhibited by some
Kfir (unbeliever) or a transgressor, then it is termed as Istidrj.

paralysis and I had to move crawling on the ground. This divine
punishment taught me an admonitory lesson and I asked my fathers

bring the endless wealth of never-ending bliss and blessings.
On the other hand, even if we intend to give something in charity,
the intention of gaining the consent of Allah

lacks within us!
There is no sincerity and no desire for seeking pleasure of Allah
.
as well. All we want is just to show off that how much money we have
given in charity. We never get satisfied until our charity becomes
known to others. If its given at Masjid, we want Imm Sahib to call
our name aloud in his prayer (Du) so that people would get to

know about our contributed amount in charity. If a Muslim is
supported, the supporter has a desire that somehow or the other his
name should be mentioned, the songs of his generosity should be
sung by people. If we oblige someone, we want him to be staying as
our servant or slave, and praise us to the skies. The Holy Quran is
instructing us not to talk too much with pride about something
we do for others as well as ask only Allah
.
for the reward. As

Strange secret of being never thirsty
The people who have an ideology of Dam dam mast Qalandar, Al

Allah

Sayyidun Shaykh Ab Muhammad Abdull Mutad

.
, I was privileged to perform Hajj. In aram,
I heard about a person who would not drink water - I was greatly
surprised. I went to see him and asked the reason. He began to tell,
I am from Hillah (a city in central Iraq). Once I saw a horrific scene
in my dream and found myself exhausted due to the intense thirst
and somehow I managed to get to the aw-e-Kawar. I found in
there Sayyidun iddq Akbar, Sayyidun Umar Frq Aam,
Sayyidun Umn Ghan and Sayyidun Al
,
..
_.

- all of
these respected luminaries were distributing the water to the people.
I moved to Sayyidun Al

because I esteemed him
very much and considered him superior to the rest of three caliphs

very thirsty so I went to the rest of three caliphs one by one and each
of them ignored me i.e. turned their faces away from me.
In the mean time, I came across the Prophet
,
_.
.
. I came
near him and complained, Sayyidun Al turned his face away
from me not to speak of quenching my thirst. The Holy Prophet
,

said, How they would give you water! You are envious
of my companions. Having heard this I was sure that I upheld an
untrue faith. Being full of remorse, I repented sincerely before the

one who doesnt mend his deeds and belief neither does he pay any
attention to his afterlife but keeps obeying only his sensual pleasure
in this world, his grave for him will turn into the house of adversity
then such concern and interest in the worldly desires will no longer
be of use.
Moreover, the one who kept spending his time specifically in
accumulating the riches of the world and later died in the same
condition and eventually buried in the dark grave, he will never ever
benefit himself with his enormous wealth; his family and heirs will
take up his wealth and they will fight and later leave each other after
having their share. Whereas this naive person engrossed in the craze

Dear Islamic brothers! You must have noticed that the demonstration
of Sayyidun Als conduct brought good fortune for a Jew who
acquired the magnificent wealth of Islam. Similarly, other Aslf (the
predecessor) kept on weighing their good deeds lest it should not be

by their Nafs and Satan or hypocritical piety then they took
precautions immediately and at times they made it possible to
repeat that virtuous deed.

Blood-curdling parable of the punishment of Als
murderer after his death
It is stated on page 199 of Ghbat k Tab Kriyn which is a
chapter of Faizn-e-Sunnat, volume 2 [the 505-page publication of
Maktaba-tul-Madna, the publishing department of Dawat-e-Islami]:
Ima Abbdn said: I was wandering in a jungle, when I came
across a church. Nearby was a pastors monastery. When I saw the
pastor inside the monastery, I asked him to tell me about the strangest
thing he had seen in this (deserted) place. So he said: Once I saw a
monstrous white bird here, which resembled an ostrich. It sat on a
stone and vomited. First it spewed out a humans head, and then it
spewed out other body parts. It continuously kept vomiting and
every time different body parts barfed out and with lightening speed
these parts joined together to form a full man. As the man started to
stand up, the monstrous bird pecked on the man, cut him again into
pieces and ate him back. That horrifying sequence continued for
several days. My belief strengthened in Gods powers after witnessing
that incident, that surely God Almighty has the powers to give death
and then bring us back to life.
One day, I drew my attention towards the gigantic bird and asked
it, For the sake of the One Who gave you life! This time when this
human is formed, leave him alone so I can ask him about his action.

The bird replied in fluent Arabic, My Rab is the only Sovereign and
He is Eternal, everything else is mortal. I am an angel designated to
continuously punish him for his sin.
Next time, when the human was formed, I asked him, O human,
who has wronged his soul! Who are you and what is your story? He
replied, I am Abdur Ramn Ibn Muljim, the murderer of Sayyidun

Repentance from corrupt beliefs
An Islamic brother from Latifabad, Hyderabad (Bb-ul-Islam, Sindh)
has stated: Due to some peoples company, my frame of mind was
spoilt and I began to raise objection to Mld and Niyz for three
years. Before, I was very fond of reciting alt-Alan-Nab but due
to wrong peoples gathering, my passion for Durd-e-Pk just died
out. Once I happened to read about the excellence of alt-Alan-
Nab which restored my passion for alt-Alan-Nab and then I
bounded myself to recite it in abundance. Once in the night, reciting
alt-Alan-Nab, I fell asleep and in my dream I saw the green dome
and suddenly I called out;
.
In the next morning, I felt restless in my heart thinking only of what
the right path was! Coincidently, for dissemination of the Sunna, a
Madan Qfila of Prophets devotees belonging to Dawat-e-Islami
was staying at a nearby Masjid and someone invited me to join the
Madan Qfila. Since I was confused, I accepted the invitation and
became a traveller of Madan Qfila with the intention of finding
out the truth. I was wearing white Imma (turban) whereas others
were wearing green Imma, but no one criticised nor were they
being sarcastic during my travelling and I didnt even feel myself
stranger among them. The head of Qfila introduced Madan
Inmt and suggested me to make it as routine. I studied Madan
Inmt and was surprised to have such wonderful Madan pearls of
training I had ever had.
As a result of keeping company of Prophets devotees and the good
grace of Madan Inmt, I got the blessing of Allah

all travellers of Madan Qfila to bear witness and proclaimed that

even a layman can be a Mushkil-Kush, a typical example of such

And the Muslim men and Muslim women are the friends

[Kanz-ul-mn (Translation of Quran)] (Part 10, Sra At-Tauba, Verse 71)
This blessed verse has been interpreted as follows: And they have
religious affection reciprocally and are helper and friends of one
another. (Khazin-ul-Irfn, Part 10, Sra At-Tauba, Verse 71)
According to true Islamic belief, if someone seeks help from the
Anbiy Kirm and Auliy Kirm in the mistaken belief that they are
responsible for all profit and loss without the will of Allah
.
; then
it is indeed Shirk. On the other hand, if someone having a strong
belief that Allah
.
is the Real Helper and the Owner of profit
and loss, seeks help from someone (being merely potential helper
due to blessings and divine favour) then it is not at all Shirk. And
this is our very religious belief.
Anyways, the portion of the verse of Sra Al-Ftia (
_ -
,
i.e. and from You alone we seek help) is true but to hell with Satan
because he instils the evil thought into the heart and create
misapprehensions.
Just ponder over the verse in which it is definitely forbidden to seek
help other than Allah without specifically mentioned about dead or
alive. The obvious and literal meaning interpreted and understood
by those with evil thought, regardless of others, even they themselves
cannot help committing Shirk. For instance, there is a heavy bundle
lying on the ground and one is helpless to lift it alone; calling
someone for help and said, Please help me in lifting this burden so
that I could put it on my head. As per the same evil thought, is it

Why to ask help from the dead?
Question 8: It is acceptable that the alive can help each other and
calling the people for help in jungle can make sense as nowadays a
police mobile can reach sometimes to rescue in the jungle unlike
the ad doesnt mean police. However help can be received from
police or even calling someone for help through a cellular phone,
but how can we call someone for help who is already dead?
Answer: Do not call for help the one who really is dead. But the
Prophets
.
,.
..|
, ,.

and the Auliy Allah (
_.
..
...|

) are still alive
even after their temporal transfer. We, therefore, call the people for
help who are more alive than dead. These special people stay alive
after their worldly death; read some strong arguments as follows:

worldly instructions; their personal property is not distributed,
remarriages of their spouses is arm neither the blessed wives are
not restricted to observe Iddat. They eat and drink and offer al
in their grave. The life of grave of Islamic scholars and martyrs is
comparatively better than their worldly life but the rules of ordinary
life cannot be applied on this spiritual life. And their tangible
possession will be distributed. Their spouses will observe Iddat.

No individual can live without help from others!
Question 14: Do you mean that no one can live without help from
someone other than Allah?
Answer: Yes I do. For example, you are driving a car and suddenly
it acts up and stops on the way. Now you need some help to push
start the vehicle. What would you do? You will have to request the
passersby for a push-start your car. Maybe some kindhearted give a

Now, you see, you were helpless and sought some help from someone
other than Allah; they did help you that solved your problem. If you
say that this is the help sought from the people who were alive then
let me give you an argument about help after death because every
Muslim is under the influence of this help:

helped
the Muslim Umma, the people of the Beloved Prophet, after 2500
years of his apparent death in a way that 50 als were reduced to
5 daily als. Allah
.
knew that it would be five als but
ordained 50 then by virtue of two Beloveds, He finally allocated
five. Now the interesting point is that the people who deny the help
and cooperation of dead due to their evil thought penetrated by the
Satan, they also perform only five als not fifty. As a matter of
fact, in the allocation of five times als, the help of others than
Allah is certainly included!
Help of others is desperately needed in Paradise

A human being is generally dependent on others in his life including
his parents, close relatives, friends and sometimes he depends on
cops or even on the passersby. In such case, how can an individual
be successful in remaining careful! But the one who is not a prey to
evil thought and by the grace of Allah
.
he admits others as
helper from the core of his heart and despite this fact he still seeks
help from Allah
.
, then there is no harm in it.

Is seeking help from other than Allah ever Wjib?
Question 15: Is it at any time Wjib (necessary) to seek help from
other than Allah?
Answer: Yes. There are some situations when seeking help from
other than Allah becomes Wjib and in some conditions it is also
Wjib on others to help the seeker. In this context, following are
those points of Islamic jurisprudence according to which seeking
help (cooperation) and helping the help seeker is Wjib:
The situations when seeking help is Wjib
1. If one is without clothes and is likely to offer al being nude
whereas others have clothes and it is almost sure that the other
will provide clothes if asked, then (help in shape of clothes)
begging is Wjib. (Bar-e-Sharat, vol.1, pp. 485)
Marvels of Sayyiduna Ali
74
2. If your companion has water and it is most probable that he
will give you the water on asking, then Tayammum is not
permissible before requesting for water. If not requested for
water and offered al after doing Tayammum and now he
requests for water after al and he gives the same or he gives
it without begging, in this case, it is mandatory to perform
Wu and repeat your al. If begged water but was refused,
the al was carried out. And if after al, he does not ask
for water to get to know of his giving or not giving the water or
he gives water on his own then your al was carried out. If
the probability of getting water upon asking was weaker and
the al was performed after doing Tayammum, the same
will be applicable i.e. water is given after al then repeat
your al doing Wu otherwise the al was performed.
(Bar-e-Sharat, vol. 1, pp. 248)
The situations when helping is Wjib
1. Someone crying for help being in the lurch and the praying
man is being called or he is calling out someone specifically or
someone drowning to death or someone is feared of burning to
death or a blind passers is about to fall in a well or (ditch) in
all such cases it is Wjib to seize/break the prayer being able to
save the victim. (Bar-e-Sharat, vol. 1, pp. 637)
2. It is not permissible to break your al if your parents or
grandparents are just calling you out. But if their calling you is
due to a big trouble; same as mentioned above then break your
al and rush to help them as this is the instruction while
performing Far Rakt. If performing Nafl al and the said
people know that you are offering your al then do not
break your al on their normal calling. But if they are not
Marvels of Sayyiduna Ali
75
aware of your performing Nafl al and are calling out then
break it and respond them no matter if it is a common call.
(Bar-e-Sharat, vol. 1, pp. 638)
3. Someone is sleeping and has forgot to perform his al and
others know about it, it is then Wjib on them (helping him out)
to wake him up and remind him of if oblivious of his al.
(Bar-e-Sharat, vol. 1, pp. 701)
4. Someone ate or drank or had sexual intercourse mistakenly, his
fasting is still valid whether it is supererogatory (Nafl) fasting
or the obligatory (Far) fasting. But the fasting will be invalid if
these things were found before the intention of fast and on the
reminder of his fasting, the fast was not recalled. If such acts
were done after reminding but in this case the expiation
(Kaffra) is not mandatory.
5. If a person observing fast is found in the middle of doing these
acts then it is Wjib to remind him (if he is not helped like
this) i.e. not reminding of ones fasting is committing a sin
unlike the person observing fast is physically much weaker and
if reminded he will leave eating, consequently his weakness will
increase so much that fasting will be difficult, if he eats, he will
be able to complete fasting as well as perform other Ibda
in case of this, not reminding him of his fast is better. (Bar-e-
Sharat, vol. 1, pp. 981)
6. If someone recites the Holy Quran wrongly, it is Wjib on the
listener to let him know of his incorrect reciting provided that
there is no jealousy or envy is created. Similarly, if you have
borrowed ones Quran for sometimes and you found any
typographical error, it is Wjib to let him know (as this is also a
way of helping) of such errors. (Bar-e-Sharat, vol. 1, pp. 553)

Question 17: Unbelievers seek help from idols and you seek help of
Anbiy and Auliy (saints). Are you both not the same in committing
Shirk?
Answer:

, the matter of both is not at all the same.
Unbelievers have the faith that Allah

has given Ul-iyyat
(i.e. declared as gods) to the idols. Further, they regard idols etc. as
their intercessor and mediator in fact idols are not so.

Seeking help from idols is Shirk
akm-ul-Ummat Muft Ahmad Yr Khn

has said,
Seeking help from idols by the unbelievers is Shirk owing to the
fact that they seek help from idols having believed them as a small
god and possess godlike powers. That is why they look upon idols
as god and declare them as worthy of worship. In other words, they
faithfully believe that idols are Allahs bondsmen/servant as well as
His partner in worship. (J Al-aq, pp. 171)

Definition of Shirk
Shirk is to testify someone as Wjib-ul-Wujd or worthy of worship
other than Allah i.e. associating a partner with the Ul-iyyat
(divinity) and this is the worst kind of Kufr (unbelief). Except this,
any act of Kufr however severe it is, cannot be genuinely Shirk.
(Bar-e-Sharat, vol. 1, pp. 183)
Al arat
_.
,
has said, A man in fact cannot be turned
Mushrik (unbeliever) unless he eventually considers someone or
something worthy of worship as god or Mustaqil Bi-t (i.e. to exist
by his own self for instance, to have a faith that the knowledge he
possess is his own) and Wjib-ul-Wujd. (Fatw Razawiyya, vol. 21,
pp. 131)
It is stated in Shar-e-Aqid: Shirk is to associate a partner with
Ul-iyyat of Allah
.
such as Majs (fire worshippers) believe
that there is a Wjib-ul-Wujd other than Allah or believe that there
is a worthy of worship other than Allah such as the idol worshippers
do. (Shar-e-Aqid Nasafiyya, pp. 201)
