SAP Sybase Certification Exams FAQ

March 2012

The following exams will be developed and become available at both Pearson VUE and SAP Education Center facilities in 2012. C_SUPDEV_01 SAP Certified Application Associate - Sybase Unwired Platform 2.1 Application Developer Available in Q1 C_SUPADM_01 SAP Certified Application Associate - Sybase Unwired Platform 2.1 Administrator Available in Q2 C_AFARIA_01 SAP Certified Application Associate - Sybase Afaria 7.0 Administrator Available in Q3 5. Do current Sybase certificates keep their validity? Absolutely; individuals holding a current valid Sybase certification will not need to recertify. 6. Will current Sybase product certification holders keep their certification level (Associate and Professional) automatically at SAP? Yes, those holding a valid Sybase certification in the latest release of the exam are entitled to use the SAP Associate/Professional certification logos and titles. However, SAP will not re-issue new certificates/kits for exams taken prior to April 1, 2012. The former Sybase Certification branding and logo will no longer be used by SAP or provided to test takers. Visit the SAP Certification website for logos and other certification related branding details. 7. Will the exam duration change for the migrated and for the new exams? The number of items and the exam duration for the migrated exams will NOT change. They will be migrated 1:1 in order to guarantee their compatability, quality and validity to exams previously administered by Prometric. Exams created after April 1, 2012 (see above) will be aligned to the SAP Global Certification program exam requirements and parameters such as number of items and test duration.

8. How many times can the test taker retake a certification exam? Once the Sybase certification exams are migrated to Pearson VUE, a test taker will be able to sit for an SAP certification exam a maximum of three times. This is a standard requirement at SAP. If he/she fails a certification exam after two attempts, and has not previously taken SAP training classes, SAP Education highly recommends that the candidate satisfy training recommendations to increase his/her potential for success. The fee for certification retakes is the same as the initial exam. No candidate may sit for the same examination for the same release more than three times. A candidate who has failed an examination three times for a release may not attempt that examination again until the next release of the exam. There are no rules on waiting periods prior to a retake. What does this mean to Sybase candidates who have already made an attempt to pass an exam? Once the exams are migrated to Pearson VUE world-wide, the candidate first attempt will count as his/her first attempt with no previous retakes taken into consideration. 9. A test taker just missed reaching a passing grade and would like SAP to review my exam for possible rescoring. What is the appeals process? Unless there were technical system difficulties experienced while taking the exam, exams will not generally be reviewed for re-scoring. If, however, a test taker feels that there are grounds for appeal, it is necessary to submit that appeal to his/her local SAP Education contact as soon as possible and no later than 3 months - after the testing event.

SAP Sybase Certification Exams FAQ

March 2012

10. Are there any differences between an exam taken at an SAP Education Center and Pearson VUE? No. Certification exams are the same regardless of authorized facility or test partner. 11. Does the test taker need to enter an SAP user ID (S-User) when registering for a certification exam and does he/she need to be affiliated with an SAP customer or partner in order to take an exam? The test taker does not need to be affiliated with an SAP customer or partner in order to take an exam. However, the exam taker does have to apply for an S-User ID (or in the case of internal employees an I, D or C-user ID) from SAP prior to exam registration. Instructions on how to apply for an S-User ID can be found at http://www.vue.com/sap.

From a vendor vs. SAP Education Center delivery perspective, pricing will never differ between an exam taken at Pearson VUE and a SAP Education Center. For local pricing, please consult your local SAP Education website. 14. How can a test taker get information about recommended training offerings to prepare for the tests? Please consult www.sybase.com/support/education or SAP Educations certification websites http://www.sap.com/services/education/certification/index.epx for training path recommendations and preparation guidelines. 15.
