iEvents

Event-Definition:

A thing that happens, an incident or occurrence, esp. of some importance. Example-Blood Donation camp, Health camp, Awareness camps. A planned public or social occasion. Example-Public meetings, Political Meetings, Get together, Wedding Ceremony, Receptions. An item in a program of sports, music, dance, Unique Performances. Example:-Running race is the main event in todays game. Example:-Mimicry is the main event in todays Show. Example-Cricket Match, music concerts.

Functionalities:

Viewing the events -- We can view the events in and around 20km from where you are i.e., when the app runs and they can be saved for further reference if interested. Managing the events We can save the events for further reference, can also share the event details through email (Making use of Inbuilt Android Mail Services). Events will be shown as push pins on the map. Event title will be displayed as the push pin title.

Touch select the icon preceding the event title to view the details of an event.

By default events of 3 categories will be displayed on the map. You can filter the events by selecting the interested category from the menu bar, like Music, Sports, others (all other events except Music and Sports).

A short note on maps:In our application we are using Google maps i.e., we are importing the Google maps to our main application layout through coding. These Google maps are provided in the preloaded android system services.

We are going to handle the events and their details along with their locations through our custom coded Google maps in our application.

Features:

We will provide with the facility of booking tickets to events. Booking Tickets can be done in 2 ways. First:- Directly calling the event organizers and booking the tickets Second:-Clicking on the URL which they are providing i.e., through Redirecting to the URL. We will also provide navigation i.e., route map to specified event from the users location i.e., where he is.

Sample navigation layout Location based searching of events is also available through search box which is provided in the app.

Sample search box We will provide calling to the event organizers with a single touch.

One Touch Calling Sample We will also provide chatting facility with the event organizer (a kind of chat box).

We are also going to provide extra sharing features like sharing through Face book, Twitter.

We are also planning to provide the feedback on events applicable.

Dynamic update of the events is also made when the app runs i.e., for every 15 minutes. We are also trying to notify the user with notifications whenever the user has entered an event area i.e., similar to the users getting a notification when he receives an email.
