Introduction
Largely focusing on the management of todays communication technology resources, this presentation outlines almost all existing IEEE communication standards (wireless in particular) and their objectives. Attention is also drawn towards miniaturization of device technology to attain sustainable development

Why IEEE Standards?

Enforces rules and regulations to manage different technological resources. Categorizes the Global Network for sustainable development into different groups based on the technology used Governs various technological resources to prevent infringement into each others territory

MANET & Disaster Management

Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) can be formed using any wireless communication standards but particularly 802.20 is more appropriate. This works without any specific infrastructure ( Fixed Topology) and the network is formed differently in different times (Time and situation Variant). Network is formed between moving users and is suitable for disaster management

Remote Surgery
In June 2006 A Research Group at University of Washington, in Seattle tried remotely operated surgery on latex objects mimicking human organs. They were successful in making a surgery controlled remotely at a distance of 100 m from the spot of operation

Britain's Phone Network into Internet Protocol

Britain is about to switch its entire telephone network into internet based telephone system. British Telecom (BT) group plans to achieve this target by 2012 over a cost of 19 billion US dollars. This change is suppose to save billions of pounds every five year and provide better internet connectivity to millions of homes

Sustainable Development through Device Scaling

Advent of VLSI technology brought in quest for electronic device miniaturization. According to Moors Law Development in technology will bring about higher device scaling. Unfortunately metallic wires in devices are restricting us from further miniaturization. Schemes for removing wires from VLSI chips are suggested here

Conclusion
Sustainable development in Communication Technology can be achieved if the development is integrated over Larger Areas, Communities & Technologies. This adumbrates the need of device miniaturization of Telecommunication equipments and establishment of proper standards for technological governance and Management
