Click Chat, which appears on the taskbar when someone uses Chat to call your computer. Or, if your Chat window is already open, click the Conversation menu, and then click Answer. Notes

This will display a list of trusted programs. You will be adding two programs to this list/ ?C/@$indows@[email protected]'e? and ?C/@$indows @[email protected]'e? This adds the program to the list of trusted programs. You may now open winchat.e'e and call other computers on your )*N. Of course each computer needs to have the same trusted programs added. winchat.e'e &actually netdde.e'e, is a security risk because it allows someone else to run software on your computer. "f you have a direct connection to the internet, this may be a dangerous program to run. "n my case, " am behind a very secure firewall and have no access to the internet e'cept via a secure server. "f you are in a company environment, check with your "T security personnel before enabling this or you may be inviting invasion of your computer. Net DD is a known security risk. Aaking it a trusted program allows e'ternal processes to start an run programs on your computer, so be careful. " tested this in a business environment using active directory and domains rather than workgroups. This should work with a workgroup environment because the security constraints are less stringent.
Step (4) You may receive the above message for any of the following reasons/
You are not logged on to the network. The other computer is not logged on to the network. The two computers are not configured to use a common network protocol. $hen you dialed the other computer, you typed an e'tra space at the end of the computer name. The other computer is running $indows B4 and Netdde.e'e has not been run on that computer during this session.
RESOLUTION
To resolve the problem, follow these steps/ 0. Aake sure that someone is available at the other computer to answer. 1. Aake sure both computers are logged on to the network. 2. Double!click the Network icon in Control -anel on each computer, and make sure there is a common network protocol in the list of installed network components. 3. Aake sure that you do not type an e'tra space at the end of the name of the computer you are calling. 4. "f you are using $indows B4, you must run Netdde.e'e before you can receive a chat. $hen you run $inchat.e'e, it automatically starts Netdde.e'e. <owever, if you have not run $inchat.e'e during a session, Netdde.e'e is not loaded and Chat cannot notify you that another user is calling. You may want to place a shortcut to Netdde.e'e in your 6tartup folder to prevent this. 9or information about creating shortcuts, search for ?shortcut? in $indows B4 <elp. NOT / "f you are using only the Aicrosoft Client for Net$are Networks, Net%"O6 must be enabled in the properties for the "-=.6-= protocol for Netdde.e'e to load.
