Full sentences
Activity Time
This week we are going to continue to e#plore the theme of full sentences. We are going to focus on sentence structure in more detail. This will include punctuation such as commas$ full stops$ question marks$ e#clamation marks$ speech marks and capital letters at the start of every sentence. I will use punctuation flashcards to teach students the terms and we will play flash card draw$ where % students stand back to back$ each holding a flashcard. They then take & paces and turn. The st student to call out the others flash card wins point for their team. I will write sentences on the board without any punctuation and the students are invited to come and stick on punctuation pictures in the correct places in the sentence. We will do a worksheet where students cut out many different words and are asked to create sentences by putting these words into order. 'f course$ not forgetting to add punctuation marks. They will then show the rest of the class and will read out the sentence. We will also complete a worksheet where the students read full sentences and then add capital letters and punctuation to each sentence.
